Wake up to a brand new day: Awaken to the Word – Part 4

My Bible also says, “Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk.” Read Psalm 119:105 (CEV). Quite simply brethren, the Bible is counselling us to start our day with the word of God. From these two verses of scripture, you can see, the word of God is our compass to walk this life, and dare I say without the compass called of the WORD, we walk on in darkness. Are you aware, God does not want you and I to be stressed, hence He counsels us to. “Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).” Read Psalm 55:22 (AMP). True and accurate as this Bible verse is, how come we still fret and worry? Quite simple, because the word of God does not seem to carry much weight in our lives. Selah. Other things like worry, peoples opinion and cares seem to carry more weight, we stay awake up at night, tossing and turning on the bed because of one care or another. But I thought the Bible said to us, “Cast all your cares on Him…”

So here is the salient question, HOW can I awaken to the word of God? The Bible says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 (TLB). The key word here is to abide (to permanently remain), in other words, awakening to Gods word by way of daily embracing and meditating on His word. The Bible also says to you, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Read Isaiah 40:13 (NKJV). In other words, the Bible is saying to us, we can awaken ourselves to the word by waiting on the Lord. Recall the Bible says, “In His presence is fullness of joy…”

Imagine with me for a minute, when you go to the restaurant, there is a staff assigned to wait on you to take your order. In like manner, the word of God is the menu waiting to serve you; and you need to be ready to be served by being seated and ready to place our order. To place your order, you first of all should know what is in the menu or at least look through the menu, once you have done so, then you place your order. There are those who are quite familiar with the menu, they already know what they want, and they go ahead and order their choice of cuisine. For example, I placed an order which says, “By His stripes, I am healed.” Watch this, my placed order is in line with what is in the menu; therefore, it gets delivered to me, and I partake of it by constantly meditating and eating the word; which now becomes the joy and the rejoicing of my heart.  Read Jeremiah 15:16 (KJV). Hallelujah, Glory to God

Taking the time to understand the menu (Word) and acquaint oneself with different choices of cuisine (blessings and promises) takes time, effort and attention, hence the Bible says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, then you shall ask what you will, and it shall be given.” Listen to this quote, “Transformation will only come, when we open up our lives to Gods truth.” Chuck Swindoll. Question, what is truth? According to the Bible, the word equals truth, hence, “Make them holy by Your truth; teach them Your word, which is truth.” John 17:17 (NLT).  So every time you are exposed to sound Biblical teaching, you are being told the truth. Amen
