Wake up to a brand new day: Awaken to Praise – Part 6

39120-manlookingatsun-sunburst-thankful-thinkstock-beerphotographer-531630954.1200w.tnThe Bible says, “Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the LordPraise the Lord! (Hallelujah!).” Read Psalm 150:6 (AMP). From the verse of scripture, we can see a direct command to praise (to give commendation and a praise to someone), and in this instance, reference is being made to God Almighty. If you are reading this, that means you have breath in you; so what are you waiting for to lift up your hands, or open up your mouth and give God thanks and praise for life? This is quite an instructive verse of scripture; “let everything that has breath PRAISE the Lord. In other words, praise is not based on what you have or don’t have, the fact you have breath in you is the only good enough reason to PRAISE to God.

You might be watching and saying, it can’t be that easy to praise the Lord, what is there to praise the Lord for? Hymn! When you keep focusing on the negative and allow it get a hold of you, then you won’t praise the Lord at all, BUT, when you think of the goodness of the Lord, how He saved you, kept you, held you together, in times when you felt the weight of the world on you, and by the way, why should the weight be upon you, when He said, “Cast off that weight and give it to God.”

I encourage you dearly beloved, keep your focus and attention on Gods goodness, hence the Bible says,  “The goodness of God leads you to repentance.” This simply means, when you recall His goodness and faithfulness towards you, you have no other choice but to give Him praise and say, “How great though art.” Now, watch this, if you refuse to praise Him, then there is a word called ungrateful and un-appreciative.’ And that is not who and what you are, right? So stop complaining, wipe the tears from your face, take a shower, sing out to the Lord with a new song, rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for “The Lord thy God is with thee.”

Beloved, I would admit there were times I could not muster the strength to praise, but in my own way, as I began to think about how God’s goodness, even when I did not deserve it, BUT for His grace and mercy; I had no other choice but to say, “How great thou art.” The Bible counsels, “We walk by faith, and not by sight.” Read 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV).

Hey don’t be self centred, be God centred. When you are self centred, it means you are in the centre of the circle and everything revolves around you. Well, let me remind you, Jesus is the centre of your life. Amen. I really want to encourage you today, God takes joy in you when you appreciate Him for all that He has done for you. You might not notice it, but the only thing you can give someone who owns everything is PRAISE.

Praise is a covenant attitude and an expression of your absolute trust and confidence in God, irrespective.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
