“But the word of the Lord remains forever.”

Peter quoting from the book of Isaiah 40:6-8 writes, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” Read 1 Peter 1:24 (NIV). I believe Peter is reminding every believer that everything in this life possessions, accomplishments, people will eventually fade away and disappear. Only God’s word, plans purpose and pursuits will stand forever. Matthew 6:33 (AMP) says, “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
