I am not disadvantaged – Part 3

fullsizeoutput_2fThe English dictionary meaning of the word disadvantage, an unfavourable circumstance or condition that reduces the chances of success or effectiveness.” Whilst the word advantage “a condition or circumstance that puts one in a favourable or superior position.” As children of God and heirs to the Kingdom, we don’t deal with probabilities, we deal with absolutes! God commands, and it is, hence when He said, “Light be, light became.” There was no probability that light was not going to appear; a million times no. As those words from God were uttered, the Bible says, “The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” Read Genesis 1:2 (NIV).

Have you wondered why the Spirit of God was hovering? I believe to bring to pass every word spoken by God. Well, you might say, how do I know this? Good question; I would say verse 3 of Genesis chapter 1 helps us with the answer, And God said…”  then the Spirit that was hovering over the waters went into action at the hearing of God’s Word. In like manner, the Spirit of God is hovering and waiting to bring into effect every faith spoken word you will ever utter. Therefore, start acting on God’s Word, because it is what gives you the edge.

This is good news beloved, and since this is the case, why then would we entertain the thought of being disadvantaged? Is there something we are missing or we don’t know enough? And I believe that is why the scripture says, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Read 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV). Study means to earnestly search the truth out found in scriptures.

So how do we leverage on this amazing help from the Holy Spirit?

  • Put the word of God in front of you always. “I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Read Psalm 16:8 (NASB). Scripture says, “When Your Word came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear Your Name, Lord God Almighty.” Read Jeremiah 15:16 (NIV). Listen to this, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.” Read Psalm 119:105 (NIV). Placing the Word of God always before you is when it becomes your only guiding principle for living your life. It requires a daily devotion; hence the Bible says, “He tells us everything over and over again, a line at a time and in such simple words.” Read Isaiah 28:10 (TLB). We know God speaks to us primarily through His Word, therefore, to know what the Lord is saying means we would need to spend time in the Word of God, His Word is our mirror, and we should reflect the image in the mirror, hence “…But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom,  and continues in it – not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it – they will be blessed in what they do.” Read James 1:25 (NIV).

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You, I know who I am. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am the apple of Your eye. I am one together with You. I am in no doubt about my identity in Christ. Therefore, with boldness I can say, the Lord is with me till eternity, Hallelujah.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
