The purpose of​ the Provision – Part 4

I am expecting that by now, you will clearly understand “Your provision is always in the Word.” And we have seen several scriptures, including the Lord enlightening the eyes of our understanding to be able to embrace this awesome truth. Therefore, in light of this, I want you to think with me for a moment, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROVISION? This is a fair question, right?  To answer this question and as is always the case, the Biblical text will help us through this. Listen to what the Bible says, “And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you [abundantly], and make your name great (exalted, distinguished); and you shall be a blessing [a source of great good to others].” Read Genesis 12:2 (AMP). Well, Ricky, this is the Abrahamic covenant, true, and we are of the descendants of Abraham which absolutely qualifies us to be partakers, hence the Bible says, “God’s purpose is therefore plain: that the blessing promised to Abraham might reach the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, and the Spirit might become available to us all by faith.” Read Galatians 3:14 (PHILLIPS).

So two things we see here for the purpose of the provision:

• Exaltation: the blessing of God upon your life will exalt God’s goodness, mercy and favor with whomsoever you come in contact with. Watch this, when you bless someone with what God has blessed you with will surely bring about exaltation.
• Source of blessing to others: because of the blessing upon your life, you have enough to bless, to give, to be charitable.

Please indulge me, as I meditated on the text, I sensed a strong presence of God. And instantly got reminded of this Biblical text, “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth…” Read Acts 3:6 (KJV). So here is my point, you have much more than money to give, you have the blessing; because in the blessing lies everything. Beloved, you are not disadvantaged, Selah.

As I began to thank the Lord for this insight “All my provision is in the Word,” I sensed the need to revisit the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath, and there I noticed something quite interesting, find out in part 5.
