“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].” Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP). Other indices we see from Romans 1 which we need to be mindful of is a lack of honor towards God.
- People failing to Honor God.
- “All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; He alone is God. Amen.” Read 1 Timothy 1:17 (NLT). The text is quite instructive saying, “all honor and glory” belongs to our God. We honor God when we say what He says, and act according to what we see the Father do. Listen to what and how the Bible tells us to honor God, “ No, the Lord has told us what is good. What He requires of us is this: to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with our God.” Read Micah 6:8 (GNT).
- Honoring the Lord is simply doing His bidding. He has a plan and a purpose for you, and one of the greatest honor you can give to God is when you align your entire being to His plan, this is awesome folks. Listen to this quote, “Obedience to the will of God is the pathway to perpetual honor and everlasting joy.” Charles Spurgeon.
- Honor is the value or price you place on something or someone. So here is a question for you to ponder, what value do you place on God? Before you answer, I want to recall what God did, the Bible says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Read Romans 5:8 (NIV). This is the height of honor folks.
When you fail to honor God, what you are saying inadvertently is that ‘you are all that.’ Newsflash, “You ain’t all that, BUT for God.” Never forget, everything you are today and will ever be is because of God, Period. When you see it from this perspective, I can guarantee one thing, honoring God will come easily.
Lord Jesus, I honor you with my life today. Thank You for looking on me so favorably. Everything that I am and will ever be is because of Your amazing grace and love, and I am eternally grateful. Thank You that my life is a praise unto you wherever I go in the Name of Jesus.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
