The Lord will raise a Righteous branch – Part 2

GrowImage_plantOut of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— the Spirit of wisdom and understandingthe Spirit of counsel and mightthe Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LordHe will delight in obeying the LordHe will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsayHe will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploitedThe earth will shake at the force of His word, and one breath from His mouth will destroy the wicked. He will wear righteousness like a belt and truth like an undergarment.” Read Isaiah 11:1-5 (NLT). Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you Jesus the Messiah.

As shepherds of God’s precious people, we are to allow the Spirit of the Lord and the presence of God impact the way we shepherd, hence the Bible says, “So [David] was their shepherd with an upright heart; he guided them by the discernment and skillfulness [which controlled] his hands.” Read Psalm 78:72 (AMPC). David is an exemplary leader who allowed the Holy Spirit to help him shepherd the flock of God.

Dear Minister, Bishop, Reverend, Apostle, Teacher, Pastor, the people don’t belong to you, they belong to God. The owner of the flock will hold you and me accountable for how we shepherd the flock He directs to our ministries, and that is the more reason He is asking us to seek Him all the time on how we do ministry.

Our first ministry priority is to God, then our families and to others, and we need God’s Spirit to help us lead according to Biblical precepts.

Intellectualism will not be sufficient to do the ministry of Christ; quite frankly it is limiting and stifling. I am not saying we should not engage our brains, but that we yield our intellects to the Lordship of Christ. Understanding this concept will make ministry easy.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
