I am a Christian first – Part 9

fullsizeoutput_44Christianity does not provide the reason for each experience of pain, but it does provide deep resources for actually facing suffering with hope and courage rather than bitterness and despair.” Timothy Keller. “I am a Christian first” demonstrates hope to a dying world and according to Desmond Tutu, “Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

A nation is made up of its people, and God has placed each of us in the context of families. God warns and counsels us “For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly ruined.” Read Isaiah 60:12 (NASB).

My desire for us as the “people of God” is that we embrace who we are in Christ because “For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favour upon favour and gift [heaped] upon gift.” Read John 1:16 (AMPC).

This is my prayer for you based on Isaiah 41:10 (AMPC) which says, “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.”

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
