Praise ye the LORD – Part 1

Praise Ye the Lord

King David writes in his Psalms, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boasts in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together! I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.” Psalm 34:1-5 (ESV). I recently started reading again the story of David and how he became to be king in Israel, and what I noticed was David’s ability to praise God unhindered. And it is no wonder, David was able to get God’s attention.

Recall the Bible says, “And God inhabits the praises of His people.” Think with me for a moment, the only thing God’s creation can give back to Him is our praises! Scripture says, “Listen to me. If my followers were silenced, the very stones would break forth with praises.” Therefore, we can’t afford not to be a people of praise. The Bible says, “Let everyone everywhere join in the crescendo of ecstatic praise to Yahweh!Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!” Read Psalm 150:6.

David writes, in the time of trouble, he sought the Lord, and the implication of his seeking the Lord is that his face was radiant [beaming, shinning, bright countenance], and reproach was taken away from him. The Bible says, “those who put their trust in the Lord will not be ashamed.” So, here is my question, who do you seek in the time of trouble? Wife, husband, friends, parents, colleagues at work, pastor, your cell group leader or do you SEEK the LORD first?

The more you praise, the more vigor you will have for prayer; and the more you pray, the more matter you will have for praise.” J. I. Packer

My Father, this is my prayer to You; “Lord! I’m bursting with joy over what you’ve done for meMy lips are full of perpetual praise.” Read Psalm 34:1 (TPT). Take a note of this word, “Perpetual Praise!

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
