Beloved, speaking about the unchangeable holiness of God is incomplete without talking about the names of God. Therefore, I will devote this session to speaking about the Names of God. What is in a name? According to Webster’s dictionary, a name “Constitutes the distinctive designation of a person or thing.” Listen to this, “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Read Philippians 2:9-11 (ESV).
Our Father in Heaven is Yahweh Elohim [Lord God]. Listen to this, “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is God!), who formed the earth and made it (He established it; He did not create it empty, He formed it to be inhabited!):
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.” Read Isaiah 45:18-22 (ESV). Our God is very powerful, hence, “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” Read Hebrews 1:3 (ESV).
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.” Read Psalm 8:1 (ESV).
