Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. To engage our theme text, the Apostle Paul makes the point that we have to transition from doctrine to practice. The Bible says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” Read 1 Timothy 4:15 (KJV). Watch this beloved, there must be evidence that we are walking worthy [referring to our daily conduct]. In other words, living a life that is consistent with the Scriptures.
The Apostle Paul writes, “Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” In other words, walking worthy is a call. Watch this, the ‘Spirit bestowed oneness of all true believers.’ Listen to this, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” Read 1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV). Therefore, “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Read Philippians 2:2 (KJV). The exhortation is to walk in unity and submission to the head- Christ being the head, Ephesians 1:22-23 (KJV).
How do I walk in unity? This is a very good question. Paul answers the question for us by listing the particular areas [One Body, One Spirit, One Hope, One Faith, One Baptism, One Lord, One God and Father]. Paul is focusing on the Trinity, and they are completely unified in every aspect of the divine nature and plan. The Bible says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Read Psalm 133:1 (KJV).
One body – The One body is the Church of God. The Bible says, “And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Read Ephesians 1:23 (LSB). Listen here, “And might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having in Himself put to death the enmity.” Read Ephesians 2:16 (LSB). “That the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” Read Ephesians 3:6 (LSB). Beloved, we are no longer strangers to the Covenant of His promise. Read Hebrews 8:6-13 (LSB). Hallelujah! This is great news!!
Our Father in Heaven, You are too beautiful beyond description. Too marvelous for words. Too wonderful for comprehension. You, O Lord, deserve all the glory, honor and praise. Thank You, for Your Faithfulness.

Marcher dans l’unité – Partie 1a
C’est pourquoi, moi, le prisonnier dans le Seigneur, je vous exhorte à marcher d’une manière digne de l’appel qui vous a été appelé, en toute humilité et douceur, avec patience, en vous supportant les uns les autres dans l’amour, en vous efforçant de garder l‘unité de l’Esprit dans le lien de la paix. Il y a un seul corps et un seul Esprit, de même que vous avez été appelés dans l’espérance de votre appel; un seul Seigneur, une seule foi, un seul baptême; un seul Dieu et Père de tous, qui est au-dessus de tout, par tous et en tous. Pour engager notre texte thématique, l’apôtre Paul souligne que nous devons passer de la doctrine à la pratique. Observez cela, bien-aimés, il doit y avoir des preuves que nous marchons digne. En d’autres termes, vivre une vie qui est conforme aux Écritures.
L’apôtre Paul écrit: “Marchez digne de l’appel qui vous a été appelé.” En d’autres termes, marcher digne est un appel. Regardez ceci, “l’Esprit a accordé l’unité de tous les vrais croyants.” Écoutez ceci: “Mais celui qui est uni au Seigneur est un seul esprit.” Lisez 1 Corinthiens 6:17 (LSG). C’est pourquoi: “Comblez ma joie, de ce que vous avez les mêmes sentiments, ayant le même amour, étant d’un commun accord et d’un seul sentiment.” Lisez Philippiens 2:2 (LSG). L’exhortation est de marcher dans l’unité et la soumission à la tête – Christ étant la tête, Éphésiens 1:22-23 (LSG).
Comment puis-je marcher dans l’unité? C’est une très bonne question. Paul répond à la question pour nous en énumérant les domaines particuliers [Un seul corps, un seul esprit, une seule espérance, une seule foi, un seul baptême, un seul Seigneur, un seul Dieu et Père]. Paul se concentre sur la Trinité, et ils sont complètement unifiés dans tous les aspects de la nature et du plan divins. La Bible dit: “Voici, qu’il est bon et agréable à des frères d’habiter ensemble dans l’unité !” Lisez le Psaume 133:1 (LSG).
Un seul corps – L’unique corps est l’Église de Dieu. La Bible dit: “Et il mit toutes choses sous ses pieds, et le donna comme chef de toutes choses à l’Église, qui est son corps, la plénitude de celui qui remplit tout en tous.” Lisez Éphésiens 1:23 (LSB). Écoutez ici: “Et qu’il les réconcilie tous deux en un seul corps avec Dieu par la croix, ayant en lui-même mis à mort l’inimitié.” Lisez Éphésiens 2:16 (LSB). “Que les païens sont cohéritiers et membres du corps, et participants de la promesse en Jésus-Christ par l’Évangile.” Lisez Éphésiens 3:6 (LSB). Bien-aimés, nous ne sommes plus étrangers à l’Alliance de Sa promesse. Lisez Hébreux 8:6-13 (LSB). Alléluia! C’est une excellente nouvelle!!
