Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:1-6 (LSB).
“Whenever a people are bound together in loyalty to a story that includes something as strange as the Sermon on the Mount, we are put at odds with the world.” Stanley Hauerwas. Listen beloved, walking in unity of the Spirit will set us on a collision course with the forces of darkness and those who stand for false gospel. Paul says, “But I see a different law in my members, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a captive to the law of sin which is in my members.” Read Romans 7:23 (LSB).
One Baptism: “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For also by one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.” Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (LSB). I believe this speaks of spiritual baptism – an open declaration of faith in Christ before many witnesses. Therefore, “Now why do you delay? Rise up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’” Read Acts 22:16 (LSB).
One God and Father: Our Father in heaven is the “ultimate source” of unity. There is only one “true God.” Hence the Bible says, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Read John 17:3 (KJV). The use of the term “Only True God” connotes that there are other god’s. See what the Bible counsels against other gods, “You shall not walk after other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you.” Read Deuteronomy 6:14 (LSB). Listen to this, “Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and His Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts: ‘I am the first, and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.” Read Isaiah 44:6 (LSB). Listen to this, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Read Exodus 20:3 (LSB). Therefore, “Now concerning everything which I have said to you, beware; and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.” Read Exodus 23:13 (LSB).
Heavenly Father, thank You. You have given me Your Word, and I thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit, helping me to walk in the reality of Your Word, and for that, I am eternally grateful in Christ name.

Un baptême: “Car, de même que le corps est un et qu’il a plusieurs membres, et que tous les membres du corps, bien qu’ils soient nombreux, sont un seul corps, ainsi est le Christ. Car c’est aussi par un seul Esprit que nous avons tous été baptisés dans un seul corps, Juifs ou Grecs, esclaves ou libres, et nous avons tous été abreuvés d’un seul Esprit.” Lisez 1 Corinthiens 12:12-13 (LSB). Je crois que cela parle du baptême spirituel – une déclaration ouverte de foi en Christ devant de nombreux témoins. Par conséquent: “Maintenant, pourquoi tardez-vous? Lève-toi, fais-toi baptiser, lave-toi de tes péchés, en invoquant son nom. Lisez Actes 22:16 (LSB).
Un seul Dieu et Père: Notre Père qui est aux cieux est la « source ultime” de l’unité. Il n’y a qu’un seul “vrai Dieu.” C’est pourquoi la Bible dit: “Et ceci est la vie éternelle, afin qu’ils te connaissent, toi, le seul vrai Dieu, et Jésus-Christ, que tu as envoyé.” Lisez Jean 17:3 (LSG). L’utilisation de l’expression “Seul vrai Dieu” implique qu’il y a d’autres dieux. Voyez ce que la Bible conseille aux autres dieux: “Tu ne marcheras pas après d’autres dieux, aucun des dieux des peuples qui t’entourent.” Lisez Deutéronome 6:14 (LSB). Ecoutez ceci: “Ainsi parle Yahvé, le Roi d’Israël et son Rédempteur, l’Éternel des armées: Je suis le premier, et je suis le dernier, et il n’y a pas de Dieu en dehors de moi.” Lisez Ésaïe 44:6 (LSB). Écoutez ceci: “Tu n’auras pas d’autres dieux devant moi.” Lisez Exode 20:3 (LSB). C’est pourquoi: “Maintenant, pour tout ce que je vous ai dit, prenez garde; et ne prononce pas le nom d’autres dieux, et ne les entends pas de ta bouche. Lisez Exode 23:13 (LSB).
Père céleste, merci. Tu m’as donné Ta Parole, et je Te remercie pour la puissance du Saint-Esprit, qui m’aide à marcher dans la réalité de Ta Parole, et pour cela, je suis éternellement reconnaissant au nom du Christ.
