The one with the Pitcher – Part 1a

When God created us, He had a purpose in mind. So, what is that purpose you might ask? Listen to what the Bible says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Read Ephesians 2:10. The Bible says, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Read Philippians 2:13. This indicates that God plays an active role in fulfilling His good purpose in our lives. Who and what you are has been determined by God. Have heard about tailor-fitted suits? If yes, you will understand that the suit is specifically designed for the individual. In like manner, God has divinely fitted each one of us with a specific plan and purpose.

Here is my counsel to you, discover the power (ability) within you, embrace your divine purpose and share your gifts with the world. The Bible says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Read Jeremiah 29:11. Listen to this, “My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.” Read Psalm 139:15. “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Read Jeremiah 1:5. In other words, from the womb to the world, every detail of our existence is known and ordained by God. ‘In the tapestry of human existence, every thread has its place’ and our lives are intricately woven into a divine plan.

The role of the Pitcher (Vessel) from a Biblical perspective, is that we are receptacles of spiritual substance, making us spiritual beings. The Bible says, “We have been created in the image and likeness of God.” Read Genesis 1:26. The Bible says, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” Read 1 Peter 2:5. We are to offer spiritual worship to God, because He is Spirit – “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” Read John 4:24. Beloved, anything short of offering up spiritual worship to God is an exercise in futility.

The clay serves at the behest of the potter, and Paul uses the analogy of jars of clay to describe “Christians as vessels containing the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Christ.”

Father in Heaven, I am grateful for the Blood of Christ. It is because of the Blood of Christ, I can come before you, without any guilt, shame or condemnation. Thank You for depositing Your Word in my heart. I am deeply thankful for Your mercy and love.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
