May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Read Ephesians 3:18-19 (KJV).
- The nature of God’s love
- The length of the Cross, speaks of persevering love. The Bible says, “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” Read 1 Corinthians 13:7. Beloved, God’s love is consistent, pure and unconditional. It is rooted in His nature, and character. The Bible says, “For God is love.” Read 1 John 4:8.

- The Cross as the ultimate expression of God’s love
- The four dimensions of the Cross speak not of four separate features, but of its vastness and completeness. Scripture reminds us that the Cross is inseparable from the fullness of Christ Himself: “For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power” Read Colossians 2:9–10. In Christ, nothing is lacking—and through the Cross, that completeness is revealed to us.

- The fullness and completeness revealed in the Cross
- The Cross of Christ is not confined to a single moment in history. It continues and endures from generation to generation. The Bible says, “And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” Read John 1:16. Beloved, we received the fullness of God’s redemptive power, such that “…whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life.” Read John 3:16. The writer of Hebrews declares, “Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” Read Hebrews 12:2. What He endured was not temporary suffering for a temporary purpose, but an eternal act with everlasting impact. By this eternal act, many across the globe are daily experiencing the saving grace of His redemptive power! The Scripture re-affirms this, “Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Read Romans 3:24.

- The enduring and eternal impact of the Cross
- At its core, the Cross is the ultimate expression of selfless and unending love. It stands at the center of God’s eternal plan to reconcile humanity back to Himself. This love was costly—it required a life marked by pain, perseverance, and obedience, culminating in the sacrificial death of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. The power of His saving grace, ensured that we were delivered from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son: in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” Read Colossians 1:13-14. O, what a sacrifice? Behold, what manner of love.” Read 1 John 3:1. Lord, thank You!
Hymn: “Lord Jesus, when I think of Thee.” 1 “Lord Jesus! when I think of thee, of all thy love and grace, my spirit longs and fain would see thy beauty, face to face. 2 And though the wilderness I tread, a barren, thirsty ground, with thorns and briars overspread, where foes and snares abound;– 3 Yet in thy love such depths I see, my soul o’erflows with praise–Contents itself, while, Lord, to thee a joyful song I raise. 4 My Lord, my Life, my Rest, my Shield, my Rock, my Food, my Light; each thought of thee doth constant yield unchanging, fresh delight. 5 My Saviour, keep my spirit stayed, hard following after thee; till I, in robes of white arrayed, thy face in glory see.” James G. Deck
The Bible says, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.” Read 1 Thessalonians 4:14. Beloved, God has promised eternal life to those who will believe on Him to the very end, hence, “And this is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life.” Read 1 John 2:25.
Lord, Jesus, thank You for the Cross. You took the penalty of my sin, and nailed it to the Cross, so that I might be free. Lord Jesus, “Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.” Psalm 119:49.
