Studying the book of Jeremiah for the past couple of months, I see clear parallels to what is taking place in our society and nations; people are living their lives without acknowledging God. We have cast away all restraints and doing things our way. And what I find interesting is that Jeremiah in the midst of constant threats to his life, being thrown in a dungeon and cistern, was committed to shining the light of God’s Word. Beloved, Jeremiah determined in his heart, hence, “His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!” Read Jeremiah 20:9 (NLT).
