Risking it all – Part 2

Mordecai and EstherQueen Esther was not unaware of the risk for not being invited to see the king, yet, she exclaimed these powerful words, “…I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” Read Esther 4:16. And by the way, fasting positions you to a place of receptivity and self-introspection.

When Esther initiated the fast, nowhere in the Scripture were we told what she planned was going to work, yet, she was willing to put it all on the line to save her people; remarkable. The same can be said of Mordecai, listen to what he said, “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die.” Read Esther 4:14 (NIV). Mordecai’s statement was one of faith, and I believe he abandoned himself on the mercy of God. Listen to this, “I look up to the mountainsdoes my strength come from mountainsNo, my strength comes from Godwho made heaven, and earth, and mountains.” Read Psalm 121:1-2 (MSG).
