The effects of anxiety can be devastating. We only need to look at the statistics which gives us an idea of the challenges people face. I came across this stats recently as I began to research the topic, “At present, 40% of disability worldwide is due to depression and anxiety (7). The most recent Psychiatric Morbidity Survey indicates that there are some 6 million people in the UK (approximately 3 million with depression as their primary problem and 3 million with an anxiety disorder) (8). https://www.anxietyuk.org.uk/get-help/anxiety-information/frequently-asked-questions/.
