The one with the Pitcher – Part 1b

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels (Pitcher), so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves. Read 2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV).

God has placed in us the ultimate price (His treasure) for you and I to fully know Him, and to dispense the fragrance of His Word wherever we go. Ver 6 of 2 Corinthians 4 reads, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” Scriptures help us understand, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13. The Bible also says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6. The Bible says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” Read Matthew 5:16. In other words, we are filled with the knowledge of God’s glory, and the ability to proclaim this knowledge with those to whom we may come in contact with.

When Jesus and His disciples were preparing the Passover, He instructed them, “And He said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.” Watch this, God dispenses His grace to believers. The Bible says, “And of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.” Read John 1:16 (KJV). In other words, we are carriers or dispensers of God’s grace to do what He has placed in our hands. The Apostle Paul writes, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” Read 1 Corinthians 15:10.

Hear me on this, the one with the Pitcher always has an assignment to fulfil! Selah [pause and calmly think]. The Bible says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Read Jeremiah 1:5. Beloved, God has a plan and purpose for you. Every vessel has been designed differently and for a specific purpose.

From a spiritual context, now that you know what you have in this human and frail body, will you be a bubbling [active, dynamic and full of life] vessel, or a stale vessel [inactive, unproductive or stinking]?

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
