A heart lacking preparation will eventually lead to a heart malfunction causing death. But the good news is this “the Lord thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart.” In other words, preparation of the heart is not by will power or doggedness, oh no, a million times no, it can only come through the help of God, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. I am saying, we should submit ourselves to the preparation required to have our hearts fixed, established, and ready to seek the counsel of God; without this folks, then we would have just signed up for a life of struggle, and having no time for the things of God, and this cannot be good for us folks. There is enough trouble and chaos in the world already, why add another layer, when we can easily avoid the stress and gain proper perspective downloaded into our hearts by the creator of heaven and earth.
So much more can be said on the subject of one’s heart; and I do realize everything starts and ends with the heart, therefore, I encourage, counsel and exhort you to make a conscious effort to prepare your heart, do everything possible to ensure you give it the right attention and focus. Jesus said in the book of Matthew “Love the Lord your God with all your heart…” This is as emphatic as you can get. “WITH ALL YOUR HEART.” Watch this, it all belongs to Him and Him alone. The heart is like the doorway; substantiated by this verse of scripture in Genesis 4:7 “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not well, sin lies at the door…” In other words, the heart of men are like buildings with a door, and at the entrance the devil is waiting to pounce and ready to overpower the occupant, BUT we have an anointing from the Holy one, and we know all things. The bible says, we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil, so that he might not outwit us, therefore stand strong in the grace and power of God; we stand in His grace.
When we look at the events as it occurs in Syria, the devastating effect on human lives, one cannot help but wonder how people, the leadership can be this heartless we might say? Like I said before, it is an issue of the heart. The devastating effect of the actions of men whose hearts are not prepared to seek the Lord is evident for all to see. Remember a man is at the helm of government, and if his heart is not prepared to seek the Lord, then the leader would be like Rehoboam in the bible whose heart was not prepared to seek the Lord, and he did evil.” Read 2 Chronicles 12:14. This ladies and gentlemen is what we see play out today. And for you and I, if we do not prepare our hearts to seek the Lord, then who is to say…fill in the blanks.
Dear heavenly Father, I ask you to help us to be diligent in being ready to prepare our hearts to seek after you. I pray and ask You Lord to strengthen us in these time that we are in, where we are being pulled on every side to be steadfast and immovable like mount Zion in the Name of Jesus. Amen. I ask You Lord to enlighten the eyes of our understanding (heart) to know You in dimensions never experienced before in the Name of Jesus. And I am extremely grateful for Your loving kindness in sending Your Son, Jesus Christ to die for me, oh what a life; a life of acceptance, …”Inspite of …? you welcomed the word with the joy that the Holy Spirit produces.” Read 1 Thessalonians 1:6b (ISV).
A heart filled and established on God’s word is the source of all purity. True purity comes from God Himself, “that was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.” John 1:9, therefore, let our hearts be pure and undefiled before God. “Then Christ will make His home (live in a tent) in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” Read Ephesians 3:17 (NLT).
Worshipping and fellowshipping with God is an issue of the heart, and it is my prayer for us to establish our hearts in a real heart relationship with the Lord for ourselves and loved ones in the Name of Jesus.
