I want you to consider this thought; a massive structure is propped up by several pillars, which implicitly means; the strength and quality of material used to construct the pillar has to be of a higher grade, it cannot be any weak type of mixture, oh no, it should have the right mix of cement, concrete, sand and water in order for the pillar to be strong enough to withstand any weight or pressure put on it. I hear presidents of nations say things like, “the foundations of our nations were built on certain pillars,” in other words, I am hearing them say, the very strength and core of the nations they have been elected to govern is built on strong principles or qualities; I believe it is what we call “Constitution.” (a rule of action laid down by a governing authority). The constitution is what ultimately distinguishes one nation from the other.
William Ralph Emerson, “What makes a nations pillar high, and its foundation strong? What makes it mighty to defy, the foes that round it throng…? And he says “Brave men who work while others sleep, who dare while others fly… They build a nation’s pillars deep and lift them to the sky.” This is what I believe William is saying, the pillars of a nation are its people. In other words, the quality, the makeup, the collective strength of its people to a large extent determine the strength of a nation. Consequently, you and I as nation builders must have something about us that the nations cannot do without. Remember the famous speech by an American President, and so my fellow American’s, “ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.” I believe he understood the importance of nation building; will only succeed when the people collectively come together and build. We have been enlisted to be nation builders right before the foundations of the earth.
The Lord speaking to Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified (separated) you, I ordained (appointed not by human hands) you a prophet (one who gives direction to the people; hearing from what God is saying). Then said I, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth, But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver (help and assist) you says the Lord…” Read Jeremiah 1:1-9 (NKJV). Please hear me, you are a nation builder whether you know it or feel like it or not. The verse of scripture just told us who we really are. We are not some ordinary people living life without a purpose, a million times no, we are a people of prophecy, a people of destiny, a people of purpose, a people who “look forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Well you might say, how much can I contribute to building my nation? I am glad you asked; scripture tells us “whatever your hand finds to do, do it.” Do not look at yourself as some insignificant person, please don’t. You have so much more to offer than you think. The bible says “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” The nations are waiting for you and I to arise to our God given call, which is according to Jeremiah 1:10 (NKJV). “See, I have set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to BUILD and to PLANT.” It is time for us to build and plant solid foundations based on biblical principles. I do not think the question should be how do we do it, rather it should be when? And the answer is now, right from where you are. God said to Abram, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward.” In this wise, it is my desire and prayer, the Lord will inspire us with thoughts and innovations that will change the lives of mankind and draw them to the rich, loving and redemptive grace of God in Jesus Name, Amen.
This is not the time for us to be politically correct, neither is it time to go search for some big preacher somewhere to lay hands on us; and this is not a criticism, but I heard Romans 8: 11 (NLT) say “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” What am I saying, “it is already in you”, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Everything we would ever need to be nation builders is already embedded within, therefore dig deep and locate the treasure within, humanity is waiting to benefit from your treasure.
Galatians 6:4 (MSG), “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” Mediate on this folks, this is awesome, and it really drives home the message of who and what we are really meant to be.
