Keeping the hedge up – Part 3

The Bible says from the book of Psalm 118:8-9, “It is better to put our trust in the Lord, than in the strongest and mightiest of men.” Hey, please learn not to put your trust in the systems and protection developed by men. Protection comes not from any human or man made armor, but the saturation and immersion of God’s word into our spirit. The Bible is filled with God’s covenant of protection, see Psalm 91. Let us now investigate further Biblical texts on how to keep our hedge up with the help of the Holy Spirit.

  • Romans 13:14 (AMPC), “But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah], and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires [lusts].” When you clothe yourself, it indicates wearing something or a covering over, and in this instance, you and I are clothe with the righteousness of God, which is our garment, our fine linen or apparel, hence we can confidently declare “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” Hallelujah, glory to God. When you clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ, you are a new creation, you stand in the place of grace, you stand in the place provision, you stand in the place of purpose, you stand in the place of fulfillment in Christ Jesus, for the Bible says “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (See Colossians 1:27). Clothing’s protect our bodies from the elements, likewise, when we put on Christ, we put on His nature, His very character. I want you to imagine someone without any form of clothing; it means they would be exposed, open to all sorts of harsh conditions including being exposed to the fiery darts of the wicked one. When we truly embrace and express the image of God and His word, we can be rest assured our defenses remain intact, no matter the attack thrown at us; we remain firm and immovable like mount Zion which cannot be moved. In this wise dearly beloved, let us clothe ourselves with the finest apparel that ever existed, one not made with the hands of man, but one created and designed specifically tailor fitted for you before the foundations of the world. For us, putting on Christ is not optional, neither is it open for discussion; it is a loving command from our Commander-in-Chief; King Jesus. Lastly on this point, put on what fits you, and not what belongs to another. This is profound my dearly beloved. Selah (pause and calmly think).
  • Change your position, stand on the rock. Exodus 33:21, God said to Moses, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock (a type of sure foundation).” And that foundation is Jesus Christ. There is a higher place in God which you and I should embrace, a higher place of worship, fellowship and relationship. Watch this dearly beloved, when you stand close to the creator of the heaven and the earth, there are benefits for just being around Him. Are you aware from the top of the rock or an elevated place or a platform, you can see and navigate clearly un-hindered? Yes, it becomes easier to circum-navigate the land mines filled with traps and deception. God has called you to an elevated place, He has prepared a platform for you to stand on; ask Him to help you locate that place and platform, and once you find it, stand on the podium of grace and mercy. The Bible says, then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. Read Revelation 11:12 (NIV). Hear my heart on this, you are not disadvantaged, the host of heaven is behind and all around you, Hallelujah, glory to God. This is awesome, and it is my prayer, as you rise in your fellowship and walk with God, strength and insight increases more and more in your life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for enlightening the eyes of our understanding to know truth. Thank you for the wall of protection surrounding me and my household in the Name of Jesus. Thank you, I am shielded by the Blood of Jesus, and thank you for I have an invincible wall; the wall of the Holy Spirit constantly watching over me lest I dash my foot against a stone. Glory to God, Hallelujah.
