Contentment is “Having all you need within through the indwelling Christ.” Can you see this? Let me highlight these two key text: ALL YOU NEED WITHIN and INDWELLING CHRIST. This one statement is awesome, and it is so because now I know, I lack nothing, all my needs are met. Hallelujah, Glory to God. When you are content, there is a huge presence of peace in your life because you are not obligated to perform, you can be yourself, and not be envious of anything or anyone.
- A Scripted Life is filled with Contentment
- “Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances.” Read Philippians 4:11 (AMP). This Bible verse says it all really. Listen to this quote, “Contentment is natural wealth, luxury is artificial poverty.” Socrates, Essential Thinkers – Socrates. Listen to what the Bible says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Read Hebrews 13:5 (KJV). Here we can see the object of our contentment is based on ‘He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.’ This brethren is our hope. Have you noticed with contentment, thanksgiving and being appreciative becomes easy to do, and why is this so? It is because you are quite comfortable with who you are and what God has spoken concerning you, hence you cant look to people or things to define you.
- When you truly come to the realisation that the Lord has your life in His hands, there is nothing that will phase you or cause you to worry. Why is this so? Quite simply, because your life would always be in His hands, and He orchestrates the affairs of your life for His plan and purpose. Watch this, I have never heard of or seen the lead actor of the script trying to be a supporting actor. And why would he or she want to play the second fiddle? You have already been DESIGNATED BY ALMIGHTY GOD. This is the absolute truth according to the Bible, I am a believer, hence I believe.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for Your Faithfulness to Your word concerning my life. Thank You for making every provision available for me to be content, and showing me through the help of the Holy Spirit what grace has made available. I embrace the work of Your grace, and I rest in this truth which says, “And My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (NIV). There is a lot to be said on the subject of Contentment, and I look forward to devoting a couple of series to dig deeper.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
Thank you ever so much for the reminder. The Lord bless and increase you mightily in Jesus Name.
Thank you
