Spiritually Healthy – Part 2

spiritually-healthy600Spiritual health is not exclusive to just our being, it impacts or should I say the impact should be felt in every facet of our lives. For example spirituality and the socio-economic implications, spirituality and the open marketplace, spirituality and our educational systems, spirituality and our political establishments. Whether we believe it or not, spirituality has a huge role to play in the development of any country.

If you doubt this, look at the stories of Daniel, Joseph or Moses. These were spiritually healthy people who influenced and changed the landscape of their time. How about Jesus? The results and impact of His spirituality are what we are all experiencing today, hence the Bible says, “For God so loved the world…” So whether you know it or not, your existence is sustained by this one sacrifice made by Jesus, introducing His spirituality into our realm, of which we are all beneficiaries.

What does it mean to be spiritually healthy? First of all, let us take the words apart and superimpose the meanings. The term spiritual according to the word study dictionary, “The vital spirit or life, the principle of life residing in man, the spiritual entity in man.” Hence the Bible says “Then the Lord God formed [that is, created the body of] man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being [an individual complete in body and spirit].” Read Genesis 2:7(AMP).

Watch this, we do not have a life without the Spirit of God. Well, you might be saying, I am alive and living well, but did we not just read the Bible verse which says, “God breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.” Are you seeing what I am trying to show you? Your very existence, and everything you will ever become hinges on God’s breath, God’s Spirit in you! Selah (This is worth meditating upon). The word healthy means, “soundness and wholeness.” So when we superimpose the meaning of both words we have, God, breathing the very essence of His life which brings about soundness and wholeness in our lives. So think with me for a moment, without God’s life or His Spirit, there is no existence. Let me be absolutely clear, those who live without God’s life are actually living a sub-standard and inferior life.

Consequently, God knowing and seeing the future sent His Son. The Bible says it like this, “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His[One and] only begotten Son so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Read John 3:16 (AMP). God made a way of escape for us so that you and I and those who will eventually come to the knowledge of the truth, will have the chance to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

I am really excited about sharing these thoughts with you because I am beginning to see how vital this is to humanity, hence my commitment to use whatever channel to preach this Gospel of Christ. Dearly beloved, let us begin to evaluate our spiritual health and make the necessary adjustments, this is not a game, it is serious enough for you to consider because God sent His Son for this very purpose to reconcile you back to Him.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
