You are not the minority – Part 4

fullsizeoutput_3aAnd He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories.” Read Acts 17:26 (AMP). This verse of scripture says it all really, so why then will anyone think of themselves as superior to another? Another Biblical text to help us understand our identity is “In this new creation all distinctions vanish.” Read Colossians 3:11 (AMPC). “For you are the sons of God now; the live, permanent Word of the living God has given you His own indestructible heredity.” Read 1 Peter 1:23 (PHILLIPS). This is awesome!!! God has called you and has chosen you.

The word vanish means (rendering unapparent, perish, destroy, disappear or to blot out). When something is blotted out, you won’t notice what was blotted out. Therefore, if I have to super-impose the definition into the text, it can read like this, “In this new creation all races, ethnicity and social leanings are blotted out.” In other words, what was blotted out is never to re-appear.

So what is the first step to embracing and accepting this truth that you are not the minority? Quite simply, accept your new identity in Christ. Oh, is it that simple? Yes. Listen, when you see yourself as the minority, then you are inadvertently saying “you are a victim” and you are not a victim, but a victor in Christ. Therefore, I say to you, “…Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Read Romans 12:1-2. In other words, pay no attention to the identity the world is trying to lock you into. Renew your mind to the truth of who you are in Christ. You are a champion and a king, for God said so.

Beloved, renewing of the mind is not a one-time event, it is a life-long endeavour. As air or oxygen is to the human lungs, so also is the ingestion of God’s Word to your human spirit; changing your mindset to accept the truth of your new identity in Christ.

For You are the glory of their strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted.” Read Psalm 89:17 (NASB). Hey, God has exalted you, and now you are “seated together with Him in Heavenly places far above…” Watch this, you are in no way disadvantaged, the Lord Almighty is with you, Selah.

And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of  valor.” Read Judges 6:12 (ESV). God has called you mighty, and I stand with God’s Word concerning you, calling you mighty, awesome and blessed.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
