Be a warrior: not a worrier! – Part 1

44c2e4a9f241803cf8094e49d2506180You and I have been enlisted into God’s army. We are soldiers, fighters who never quit even in the midst of intense provocation. What I love about this; God says, Thou art my BATTLE AXE and WEAPONS OF WAR: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms.” Read Jeremiah 51:20 (KJV). Watch this, God needs you to become all that He has ordained you to become.

There is a world out there needing us to stand up for our faith and for what we believe in, starting right from our homes, then it trickles down into every aspect of life. Standing up is taking a position, and sometimes that position can be a most challenging one, nonetheless, we have a charge to keep and a God to glorify. As you might have heard, “As the family goes, so goes the nation.”

A warrior is not an ordinary person. God makes a warrior out of you, therefore, God in His infinite wisdom sees it fit for you and me to be thoroughly trained. Imagine with me for a moment, our earthly parents train us using several ways and methods; God as our Heavenly Father does the same, and His methods might be quite different from the ones our earthly parents will embrace. The Bible says, “My son, think of the Lord’s training as important.” Read Hebrews 12:4 (NRIV).

A warrior is someone engaged or experienced in warfare. A person who shows or has shown great vigour, courage or aggressiveness. And we can all agree, courage and aggressiveness are needed for us to be able to stand up for our faith and belief. A warrior is a fighter and an aggressor against the enemy – the devil. A warrior is someone with outstanding strength; remembering our strength is from the Lord God Almighty.

A worrier is someone who is constantly troubled with fears; and here come these words again, anxious, distracted and troubled. Think with me for a minute, a worrier is never at peace, always complaining and never satisfied. A worrier is not a praiser, a worrier is ungrateful because nothing seems good enough.

Listen to this promise from God’s Word, “You won’t fight this battle. [Instead,] take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the LORD for you, Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be frightened or terrified. Tomorrow, go out to face them. The LORD is with you.” Read 2 Chronicles 20:17 (NLT). As a warrior, you have the host of Heaven backing you, giving you and me the ultimate battle strategy, so go out in victory and know “Your victory has been secured” in Jesus Name.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
