“We live, in fact, in a world starved for solitude, silence, and private: and therefore starved for meditation and true friendship.” C.S. Lewis. Society – the world is designed to starve you of solitude and silence. We are living in a fast-paced, moving environment where the brakes seem to have been disabled, and the Bible calls it lasciviousness.
The world makes it look like solitude is a weird thing but in actual fact, the Bible encourages us to cherish times of solitude in the presence of God, because the “Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.” The world does not have the capacity, neither do they have the tools or wisdom to tell you how to live, only the Word of God is able to do so. Since this is the case, why won’t we be “keeping up with the word?”
People use the standards of society as a marker for success. Owning a car or several, houses etc is not a bad thing at all, however, those things should not own you. There is so much comparison today with people comparing this to that etc. Well, what has the Bible got to say about this? “But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behaviour], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another.” Read Galatians 6:4 (AMP).
Watch this, you do not have to be like anybody else. Be the best of you, and rejoice in the fact that God made you specifically for His purpose and glory. I have been hearing this phrase for some time “I know who I am.” And when you analyze the saying, it is really helping us to further re-enforce and establish God’s truth and reality. Our reality is not based on the societies view, a million times no, it is based on God’s view about us.
This is what the Bible says, “You are a masterpiece.” You are one of a kind, and there is nothing similar to you on this earth. Beloved, you have a unique identity, and that is the more reason why you are special; never ever doubt that. God delights in you, and He cares for you affectionately.
#Keep up with the word, and not with society.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
