Spiritual Poverty: Antidote – Part 3

Know the constitution.-2Spiritual poverty is real folks, and the impact of such can be seen in the actions of humans. Listen to what the Bible says, “The Lord saw that the wickedness (depravity) of man was great on the earth and that every imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually.” Read Genesis 6:5 (AMP). This text gives you and me insight into how human beings can behave without any inclination of God in his or her consciousness. Now, this can change for anyone who will allow Jesus Christ “as the Lord and Saviour of their lives.” This text is referring to an un-regenerated heart – a heart not given to the things of God. YIELDING YOUR HEART AND MIND TO GOD – DOING WHAT HE TELLS YOU TO DO [OBEDIENCE] is an antidote to spiritual poverty.

We are well aware of God’s attitude towards Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 right? Well, what makes us think God will ignore what is happening in the earth today? See what the Bible says, “Now I know for certain that God doesn’t show favouritism with people but treats everyone on the same basis.” Read Acts 10:34 (TPT). God will apply the same judgement in our time and day. When you read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah you will observe some similarities or patterns of behaviour. However, verse 35 of Acts 10 gives us hope, “It makes no difference what race of people one belongs to. If they show deep reverence for God and are committed to doing what’s right, they are acceptable before Him.” [REVERENCE] is an antidote to spiritual depravity of the human heart.

Let us fairly evaluate history while, at the same time, not consider ourselves morally superior. The sins of yesterday are just different sins today.” Dustin Benge. Spiritual depravity can be an indication of the condition or state of being of the people who live in a society or the country. “The depravity of man is at once the most empirically verifiable reality but at the same time the most intellectually resisted fact.” Malcolm Muggeridge. Watch this, intellectualism can’t solve the problem of spiritual depravity; the church (you and me) have a critical role to play in establishing and demonstrating the awesome power of spiritual liberty.

Listen to this, “Life came into being because of Himfor His life is light for all humanity.” Read John 1:4 (TPT). Therefore, humanity will not rest until we wake up to the light which came from Christ.

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your light which brings illumination and leads us all in the path of righteousness in the name of Jesus. Amen.
