“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.” Read Matthew 7:13-14 (AMP). Think with me for a moment, it is quite easy to navigate your car in a wide space than you will within a narrow space [this will take very careful and detailed planning].
Wide Gate leads to “destruction and eternal loss.” And this gate offers the least path to resistance taken by a lot of people, and the consequence is clear for all to see. The New International Version Bible calls it “The Highway to hell.” So the question arises, why then do people take this path? I believe this path is taken because it does not require much work to go through the gate. For example, the wide gate offers the least resistance, hence.
Watch this, God did not leave you and me comfortless, He gave us insight into what gate to select, hence the Bible says, “Listen closely, I have set before you today life and prosperity (good), and death and adversity (evil); in that, I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments (precepts), so that you will live and multiply, and that the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to possess.” Read Deuteronomy 30:15-16 (AMP).
Listen to this counsel from God’s Word, “Consider well and watch carefully the path of your feet, and all your ways will be steadfast and sure.” Read Proverbs 4:26 (AMP). The Bible also says, “But the lovers of God walk on the highway of light, and their way shines brighter and brighter until they bring forth the perfect day.” Read Proverbs 4:18 (TPT). Beloved, this is the outcome God wants for you and me.
My Father, I choose life and prosperity over death and adversity. Thank You for helping me sustain my choice in Christ Name. I look to you Lord as my ever-present help, and I am grateful.
