“John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins [that is, requiring a change of one’s old way of thinking, turning away from sin and seeking God and His righteousness].” Read Mark 1:4 (AMP). John’s message throughout his entire ministry was “REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED.” Similarly, when we study the ministry of Christ our Lord and Saviour, we will notice especially in the Books of Matthew and Mark, Jesus’s proclamation was “REPENT.” In like manner, the Apostle Paul preached to both Jews and Gentiles to “REPENT.” Brothers and sisters, the gospel of Christ is incomplete when we omit the preaching of REPENTANCE. John the Baptist and Christ our LORD were models for you and me on how to preach the gospel.
Listen to this, TRUE REPENTANCE is not an event inserted in your calendar, instead, it is a life long exercise and should be part of our daily walk and fellowship with God. Listen here, “Do not sit down and try to pump up repentance from the dry well of a corrupt nature. It is contrary to the laws of your mind to suppose that you can force your soul into that gracious state. Take your heart in prayer to Him who understands it and say, “Lord, cleanse it. Lord, renew it. Lord, work repentance in it.” The more you try to produce penitent emotions in yourself, the more you will be disappointed. However, if you believingly think of Jesus dying for you, repentance will burst forth.” Charles Spurgeon
Beloved, TRUE REPENTANCE is a work of GRACE and MERCY. Hence, “Yet even now,” declares the Lord, return to Me with all your heart and with fasting, weeping and mourning; and rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil.” Read Joel 2:12-13 (NASB).
Ladies and gentlemen, this will be a good place to pause and calmly think; asking the LORD, “Have mercy on my soul, O, LORD.” LORD, nothing can be hidden from You, therefore, You see the contents of my heart and thoughts. “Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” Read Psalm 51:7 (NLT). Beloved, this was David’s Psalm of REPENTANCE.

De même, lorsque nous étudions le ministère du Christ notre Seigneur et Sauveur, nous remarquerons en particulier dans les Livres de Matthieu et Marc, l’annonce de Jésus a été “REPENT.” De la même manière, l’apôtre Paul prêcha aux Juifs et aux Gentils de “REPENTER“. Frères et sœurs, l’Évangile du Christ est incomplet lorsque nous omettons la prédication de REPENTANCE. Jean-Baptiste et le Christ notre Seigneur ont été des modèles pour vous et moi sur la façon de prêcher l’Évangile.
Écoutez cela, VRAI REPENTANCE n’est pas un événement inséré dans votre calendrier, au lieu de cela, il s’agit d’un exercice de toute une vie et devrait faire partie de notre promenade quotidienne et la communion avec Dieu. Écoutez ici, “Ne vous n’asseyez pas et essayez de pomper le repentir du puits sec d’une nature corrompue. Il est contraire aux lois de votre esprit de supposer que vous pouvez forcer votre âme dans cet état gracieux. Prenez votre cœur dans la prière à Celui qui le comprend et dire: “SeigneurLord, le nettoyer. Seigneur, le renouveler.Seigneur, le repentir de travail en elle. Plus vous essayez de produire des émotions pénitentes en vous-même, plus vous serez déçu. Cependant, si vous pensez croyant que Jésus meurt pour vous, le repentir éclatera.“ Charles Spurgeon
Bien-aimé, TRUE REPENTANCE est une œuvre de GRÂCE et DE MISÉRICORDE. Ainsi, “Pourtant, même maintenant”, déclare le Seigneur, retournez-moi de tout votre cœur et de jeûne, pleurant et pleurant; et renez votre cœur et non vos vêtements.” Maintenant, retournez au Seigneur votre Dieu, car Il est gracieux et compatissant, lent à la colère, abondant dans l’amour et la cédée du mal. Lire Joel 2:12-13 (NASB).
Mesdames et Messieurs, ce sera un bon endroit pour faire une pause et réfléchir calmement; demander à l’Éternel: “Ayez pitié de mon âme, Ô, SEIGNEUR.” Seigneur, rien ne peut être caché de Toi, donc, Vous voyez le contenu de mon cœur et de mes pensées. “Purifiez-moi de mes péchés, et je serai propre; me laver, et je serai plus blanc que la neige.” Lire Psaume 51:7 (NLT). Bien-aimé, c’était le Psaume de REPENTANCE de David.
