Like a dream when one awakes, Lord, when stirred, You will despise their image. When my heart was embittered and I was pierced within, then I was stupid and ignorant; I was like an animal before You. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand. You will guide me with Your plan, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom do I have in heaven but You? And with You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, the nearness of God is good for me; I have made the Lord God my refuge, so that I may tell of all Your works.

The consequential result of Asaph’s approach about his life and perplexity changed when he went into the Sanctuary of God. We are told that he began to question himself, and this led to repentance before God, [Psalm 73: 22-26]. Brothers and sisters, when we face life’s challenges, I will encourage that the first place to run into is the house of God. Why? There you will come to your senses and experience God’s redemptive and restorative grace. I am reminded about the story of the prodigal son, “Finally, he came to his senses and said…” The younger son got up and started back to his father.” Read Luke 15:17-20 (NASB). Beloved, there comes a time in one’s life where we have to examine ourselves in the light of the Scripture as our mirror.
The apostle Paul writes “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Read Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP). Watch this, Asaph allowed his heart to wonder, hence he was controlled by his feelings. And how dangerous that can be. Listen to this, “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.” Read Proverbs 28:26 (ESV). In other words, do not be governed by the way you feel. Listen here, “He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek and worship and honor the LORD.” Read 2 Chronicles 12:14 (AMP).
Like the psalmist prayed, so also pray I, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me” Psalm 51:10 (NLT). God is faithful, and I know it.

Le résultat conséquent de l’approche d’Asaph au sujet de sa vie et de sa perplexité a changé lorsqu’il est entré dans le Sanctuaire de Dieu. On nous dit qu’il a commencé à se remettre en question, ce qui a conduit au repentir devant Dieu, [Psaume 73: 22-26]. Frères et sœurs, lorsque nous serons confrontés aux défis de la vie, j’encouragerai que le premier endroit où courir est la maison de Dieu. Pourquoi? Là, vous viendront à vos sens et l’expérience de la grâce rédemptrice et réparatrice de Dieu. Je me souviens de l’histoire du fils prodigue: “Enfin, il est venu à la raison et adit… ” Le plus jeune fils se lève et retourne voir son père.” Lire Luc 15:17-20 (NASB). Bien-aimé, il arrive un moment dans sa vie où nous devons nous examiner à la lumière de l’Écriture comme notre miroir.
L’apôtre Paul écrit: “Ne soyez pas anxieux ou inquiet de quoi que ce soit, mais en tout [toutes les circonstances et toutes les situations]par la prière et la pétition avec l’action degrâces, continuez à faire connaître vos demandes [spécifiques] à Dieu. Et la paix de Dieu [ cette paix qui rassure le cœur, cette paix] qui transcende toute compréhension, [ cette paix qui] monte la garde sur vos cœurs et vos esprits en Jésus-Christ [est la vôtre].” Lire Philippiens 4:6-7 (AMP). Regardez cela, Asaph a permis à son cœur de se demander, d’où qu’il était contrôlé par ses sentiments. Et comme ça peut être dangereux. Écoutez ceci, “Celui qui a confiance en son propre esprit est un imbécile, mais celui qui marche dans la sagesse sera livré.” Lire Proverbes 28:26 (ESV). En d’autres termes, ne soyez pas gouverné par la façon dont vous vous sentez. Écoutez ici: “Il a fait le mal parce qu’il n’a pas mis son cœur à chercher et à adorer et honorer l’Éternel.” Lire 2 Chroniques 12:14 (AMP).
Comme le psalmiste a prié, alors aussi prier je, “Créer en moi un cœur propre, Ô Dieu. Renouveler un esprit loyal en moi” Psaume 51:10 (NLT). Dieu est fidèle, et je le sais.
