Waiting sometimes can be a very uncomfortable experience; and especially when you must wait for any length of time. As you might be aware or not, anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. I enjoy steak quite a bit especially when I go the United States, and when they ask, how do you want your steak sir? I say to them well done. Consequently, the response from the waiter would be because you want your steak well done, it will take some time for it to be ready, and I say okay. Inadvertently, what I have communicated to the waiter is; I am willing to be patient for my steak to be properly cooked. To build a house, the foundation must be dug deep enough and properly, and this requires waiting patiently for the concrete to become rock solid before progressing to the next phase of construction.
The Bible says, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Read Psalm 37:7. To better understand our text, let us define some key terms. The word Patient means to persevere, endure, sustain, bear up under, to stand firm. It could also refer to one’s response toward circumstances, denoting perseverance in the face of difficulties. And who are we waiting for? “Waiting patiently for the Lord,” and when we truly grasp this truth, our confidence will yield righteous fruit. Listen to this, our God says, “Calm down and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honour me.” Read Psalm 46:10 (CEV). Watch this, waiting is not a natural human inclination, we have not been wired that way. Instead, waiting is a learned behaviour.
Watch this, waiting does not diminish you any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. One does not see what is causing the enlargement, but the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.” Read Romans 8:25 (MSG). Think with me for a moment, a lady with a child does not suddenly have a swollen stomach, she must patiently wait month after month with the utmost confidence that come the ninth month, she will bring forth a child. So, with any mother, patiently waiting and having confidence in the delivery process creates a sense of expectation and trust in God that the delivery doctor and team would help her bring forth. Listen to this, “Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her.” Read Isaiah 66:9 (KJV).
The Scripture says, “No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.” Read Romans 10:11 (AMPC).

Attendre peut parfois être une expérience très inconfortable; et surtout quand vous devez attendre n’importe quel temps. Comme vous le savez peut-être ou non, tout ce qui en vaut la peine vaut la peine d’attendre. J’aime beaucoup le steak, surtout quand je vais aux États-Unis, et quand ils me demandent, comment voulez-vous votre steak monsieur? Je leur dis bravo. Par conséquent, la réponse du serveur serait parce que vous voulez que votre steak soit bien fait, il faudra un certain temps pour qu’il soit prêt, et je dis d’accord. Par inadvertance, ce que j’ai communiqué au serveur est; Je suis prêt à être patient pour que mon steak soit bien cuit. Pour construire une maison, les fondations doivent être creusées assez profondément et correctement, ce qui nécessite d’attendre patiemment que le béton devienne solide comme le roc avant de passer à la phase suivante de la construction.
La Bible dit: “Soyez immobiles devant le Seigneur et attendez-le patiemment.” Lire Psaume 37:7. Pour mieux comprendre notre texte, définissons quelques termes clés. Le mot Patient signifie persévérer, endurer, soutenir, supporter, tenir bon. Il pourrait également se référer à la réponse de chacun aux circonstances, dénonçant la persévérance face aux difficultés. Et qui attendons-nous? “Attendre patiemment le Seigneur“, et quand nous saisirons vraiment cette vérité, notre confiance donnera des fruits justes. Écoutez ceci, notre Dieu dit: “Calmez-vous et apprenez que je suis Dieu! Toutes les nations de la terre m’honoreront.” Lire Psaume 46:10 (CEV). Regardez ceci, attendre n’est pas une inclination humaine naturelle, nous n’avons pas été câblés de cette façon. Au lieu de cela, l’attente est un comportement appris.
Regardez ceci, l’attente ne vous diminue pas plus que l’attente ne diminue une mère enceinte. Nous sommes agrandis dans l’attente. On ne voit pas ce qui cause l’élargissement, mais plus on attend, plus on grandit, et plus on est joyeux dans nos attentes.” Lire Romains 8:25 (MSG). Pensez avec moi un instant, une dame avec un enfant n’a pas soudainement l’estomac gonflé, elle doit attendre patiemment mois après mois avec la plus grande confiance que le neuvième mois, elle donnera naissance à un enfant. Ainsi, avec n’importe quelle mère, attendre patiemment et avoir confiance dans le processus d’accouchement crée un sentiment d’attente et de confiance en Dieu que le médecin et l’équipe de l’accouchement l’aideraient à faire naître. Écoutez ceci: “Dois-je apporter à la naissance, et ne pas faire surgir? dit l’Éternel: dois-je faire surgir et fermer le sein maternel? dith ton Dieu. Réjouissez-vous avec Jérusalem, et réjouissez-vous d’elle, tous ceux qui l’aiment: réjouissez-vous de joie avec elle, tous ceux qui pleurent pour elle. Lire Ésaïe 66:9 (KJV).
L’Écriture dit: “Aucun homme qui croit en Lui [qui adhère àLui, compte sur lui et lui fait confiance] ne sera [jamais] honteux ou déçu.” Lire Romains 10:11 (AMPC).
