But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
Listen here beloved; as God’s people, we have the capacity to soar on the wings of the Holy Spirit. According to one commentary, “Shall mount up” implies “Elevation or Lift.” And I liken it to the aeroplane or birds in general, how they lift off and up into the sky. It is a beautiful sight to watch a plane take off or birds soaring. In like manner, we can have that same incredible experience of lift / elevation in Christ for those who “WAIT for the LORD.”
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Read Hebrews 9:28 (KJV). Can you see this beloved, we are to LOOK FOR HIM – with EXPECTATION. I am sure you know how it is like, waiting for your bride to walk down the aisle, expectations will rise for the veil to be unveiled, and it is the same when we wait or look out for God, Hallelujah.
When you read the Psalmist, one thing I hope you recognise is the word, “How long, O, Lord?” This indicates the Psalmist was constantly living a life of expectancy, for God to show mercy, grace favour concerning a particular circumstance. Therefore, as an encouragement to you and me, if you are in waiting or a holding pattern, you are in good company. Evaluating one’s life, I am sure we can come up with a list of things we have all had to wait for [getting married, having children, ministry, having a family, career and the list is endless].
Below, I have listed a few and by no means exhaustive, people in the Bible who had to wait years for one thing or the other. Watch this, if this is any comfort to you, Christ also had to wait [pause and calmly think].
Abraham WAITED 25 years to see his son [Genesis 12:4 – Abraham was Seventy-Five years and in Genesis 21:5 – Abraham was One Hundred years] making it a 25 year gap. Let me encourage us, “Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Read Hebrews 10:23 (NASB).
David WAITED about 15 years to be a seated on the throne [2 Samuel 2:1-5]
Moses WAITED 40 years in Midi-an [Acts 7:30]
Joshua WAITED 45 years to receive the promise [Joshua 14:7-15]
Isaac and Rebecca WAITED [Genesis 25:20-21,26]
Christ WAITED to start His ministry [Luke 3:23]
Joseph WAITED 17 years to become ruler in Egypt [Genesis 37:2, 41:46]
The woman with the issue of blood WAITED 12 years to receive deliverance from constant bleeding [Luke 8:43-47]
Therefore, I encourage you today, to set your expectations high because God is dependable and will keep every Word He has spoken or revealed to you through the pages of the Scriptures. Remember, “He is not a man, therefore, He cannot lie…”

Attendre: Implications de l’attente – Partie 6
Mais ceux qui attendent le Seigneur renouvelleront leur force ; ils monteront avec des ailes comme des aigles; ils courront et ne seront pas fatigués ; ils marcheront et ne s’évanouiront pas.

Écoutez ici bien-aimés, en tant que peuple de Dieu, nous avons la capacité de planer sur les ailes du Saint-Esprit. Selon un commentaire, “Doit monter” implique “Élévation ou élévation.” Et je le mets en contexte à l’avion ou aux oiseaux en général, à la façon dont ils décollent et montent dans le ciel. C’est un beau spectacle de voir un avion décoller ou des oiseaux s’envoler. De la même manière, nous pouvons avoir cette même expérience incroyable d’élévation / élévation en Christ pour ceux qui “ATTENDENT l’Éternel.”
“Ainsi, Christ a été offert une fois pour porter les péchés de beaucoup; et à ceux qui le cherchent, il apparaîtra la deuxième fois sans péché pour le salut. Lire Hébreux 9:28 (KJV). Pouvez-vous voir ce bien-aimé; nous devons LE CHERCHER – avec ATTENTE? Je suis sûr que vous savez comment c’est, en attendant que votre épouse marche dans l’allée, les attentes se lèveront pour que le voile soit dévoilé, et c’est la même chose lorsque nous attendons ou veillons sur Dieu, Alléluia.
Quand vous lisez le Psalmiste, une chose que j’espère que vous reconnaîtrez est la parole: “Combien de temps, ô Seigneur?” Cela indique que le psalmiste vivait constamment une vie d’attente, pour que Dieu montre la miséricorde, la grâce de la faveur concernant une circonstance particulière. Par conséquent, pour vous et moi, si vous êtes en attente ou en attente, vous êtes en bonne compagnie. En évaluant sa vie, je suis sûr que nous pouvons dresser une liste de choses que nous avons tous dû attendre [se marier, avoir des enfants, le ministère, avoir une famille, une carrière et la liste est infinie].
Ci-dessous, j’ai énuméré quelques personnes dans la Bible, qui n’ont pas été exhaustives, et qui ont dû attendre des années pour une chose ou l’autre. Regardez ceci, si cela vous réconforte, Christ a aussi dû attendre [faire une pause et réfléchir calmement].
Abraham a ATTENDU 25 ans pour voir son fils [Genèse 12:4 – Abraham avait soixante-quinze ans et dans Genèse 21:5 – Abraham était cent ans], ce qui en fait un écart de 25 ans. Permettez-moide nous encourager: “Tenons-nous fermement à la confession de notre espérance sans faiblir, car Celui qui a promis est fidèle.” Lire Hébreux 10:23 (NASB).

Par conséquent, je vous encourage aujourd’hui à fixer vos attentes élevées parce que Dieu est fiable et gardera chaque Parole qu’Il vous a dite ou révélée à travers les pages des Écritures. Rappelez-vous: “Il n’est pas un homme, par conséquent, Il ne peut pas mentir…”
