Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from Me. If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

Have you thought about the fact that the Bible is a Book of warnings? Listen to this, “For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day, when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Read Matthew 24:37-39 (ESV). The same passive mentality seem to be what is being displayed in this 21st Century; going about our own business without care or inclination that God will come back again and there will be a day of reckoning. The Bible says, “What will you do on the day of punishment, in the ruin that will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth?” Read Isaiah 10:3 (ESV). Beloved, it is time to repent and return to God wholeheartedly. Father in heaven, may we be like the “prudent virgins” (Matthew 25:2), in Christ’s name.
I suppose one of the reasons many are oblivious, and ignore the warnings of Scripture, is because, as the Bible says, “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:18 (NKJV). Have you not heard that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Read Proverbs 9:10 (ESV). Beloved, I can’t say this enough, God is just, holy, righteous, and pure. He must punish all sin!
I recently boarded my train to London and heard the announcement before my stop, “The next stop is Covent Garden; take your personal belongings with you when leaving the train.” For me, that would have been my last call. When you are at the airport going to board your flight, either on a business trip or holiday, you will always hear these words over the tannoy, “Last call for passengers travelling to.” For these passengers, that will be their last call to board their flights, or they will be left behind.
Think with me for a moment, can all these warnings from God through His prophets be our last call? How should we respond? The Bible helps us, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” Read John 14:15 (NASB).

Si je dis aux méchants : « Tu mourras sûrement », et que tu ne lui donnes aucun avertissement, ni ne parle pour avertir le méchant de sa voie méchante, pour sauver sa vie, ce méchant mourra pour son iniquité, mais j’aurai besoin de son sang de ta main. Mais si vous avertissez le méchant, et qu’il ne se détourne pas de sa méchanceté, ou de sa voie méchante, il mourra pour son iniquité, mais vous aurez délivré votre âme.

Avez-vous pensé au fait que la Bible est un livre d’avertissement? Écoutez ceci: “Car comme l’étaient les jours de Noé, ainsi sera la venue du Fils de l’Homme. Car comme dans les jours qui ont précédé le déluge, ils mangeaient et buvaient, se mariaient et donnaient en mariage, jusqu’au jour où Noé entra dans l’arche, et ils n’étaient pas conscients jusqu’à ce que le déluge vienne et les balaye tous, ainsi sera la venue du Fils de l’Homme.” Lisez Matthieu 24:37-39 (ESV). La même mentalité passive semble être ce qui est affiché en ce 21ème siècle; vaquant à nos propres affaires sans souci ni inclination que Dieu reviendra et qu’il y aura un jour de jugement. La Bible dit: “Que feras-tu le jour du châtiment, dans la ruine qui viendra de loin? À qui allez-vous fuir pour obtenir de l’aide, et où laisserez-vous votre richesse?” Lisez Ésaïe 10:3 (ESV). Bien-aimés, il est temps de se repentir et de retourner à Dieu de tout cœur. Père céleste, puissions-nous être comme les “vierges prudentes” (Matthieu 25:2), au nom du Christ.
Je suppose que l’une des raisons pour lesquelles beaucoup sont inconscients et ignorent les avertissements des Écritures est que, comme le dit la Bible, “Il n’y a pas de crainte de Dieu devant leurs yeux.” Romains 3:18 (LSG). N’avez-vous pas entendu dire que “la crainte du Seigneur est le commencement de la sagesse, et la connaissance du Saint est la perspicacité.” Lisez Proverbes 9:10 (ESV). Bien-aimés, je ne le dirai jamais assez, Dieu est juste, saint, juste et pur. Il doit punir tout péché!
J’ai récemment pris mon train pour Londres et j’ai entendu l’annonce avant mon arrêt: “Le prochain arrêt est Covent Garden; Emportez vos effets personnels avec vous en sortant du train. Pour moi, cela aurait été mon dernier appel. Lorsque vous êtes à l’aéroport pour monter à bord de votre vol, que ce soit pour un voyage d’affaires ou des vacances, vous entendrez toujours ces mots sur le tannoy, “Dernier appel pour les passagers voyageant vers.” Pour ces passagers, ce sera leur dernier appel pour monter à bord de leurs vols, sinon ils seront laissés derrière.
Réfléchissez un instant avec moi: tous ces avertissements de Dieu par l’intermédiaire de ses prophètes peuvent-ils être notre dernier appel? Comment devrions-nous réagir? La Bible nous aide: “Si vous M’aimez, vous garderez Mes commandements.” Lisez Jean 14:15 (NASB).
