Gateway of Hope – Part 1a

I will give her her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

Hosea 2:15 (NKJV)

As we celebrate Christ’s resurrection or the Passover; our Gateway of Hope is found in Christ alone. Listen to this, “He gave up Himself for us. Our cup was filled with darkness. Our cup was filled with death. Christ took our cup and drank it. And gave us LIFE, and gave us HOPE, gave us HIMSELF.” The Bible helps us in understanding the theme text, that Israel’s discipline and judgement will not last forever, because there is a “Door of Hope.”

Listen to this, despite Israel’s unfaithfulness, our’s and the worlds unfaithfulness, God remains faithful and merciful. The story of Hosea’s wife, Gomer and her unfaithfulness, is likened to Israel’s wanderings, and serving other God’s. The nation of Israel went astray, continued in their sin, whilst Jeremiah preached God’s message of repentance for forty two years (42), yet the people refused to repent. But God, “Desires all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” Read 1 Timothy 2:4-6 (ESV).

Before we became followers of Christ, we lived our lives any which way, without a care for anyone, to satisfy our sinful pleasures and desires. Can you identify with this? “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” Read 1 Corinthians 6:11 (KJV).But, the loving kindness and mercy of God was made known to our hearts, and we repented; accepted the free gift of Salvation.

The Book of Lamentations says this, Yet I still dare to HOPE, when I remember this: “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, the Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will HOPE in Him.” Read Lamentations 3:21-24 (NKJV).

Heavenly Father, I have Your hope! “Which HOPE we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.” Read Hebrews 6:19 (KJV). Father in heaven, You promised, “But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away.” Read 2 Corinthians 3:16 (AMPC). Thank You, for giving us access to the throne room of grace, in Christ name.
