Understanding The Wilderness: A Place of Purpose, Not Punishment – Part 1e

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Matthew 4:1.

There’s a common misunderstanding about the wilderness: many people think it’s just a place you survive and escape. But Scripture shows us something deeper, the wilderness is preparation for proclamation. Jesus didn’t just endure the wilderness, He came out of it with a strong message, which reverberates around the world, even to this day.

—> To proclaim the Good News: The Bible says, “Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.” Read Mark 1:14-15. I liken this to the story of Jonah, when he came out of the the belly of the fish, he went to Nineveh to preach the gospel. Read Jonah 1:17. The Bible records, “The people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, leading to their repentance and God sparing the city from destruction.” Read Jonah 3:5. “They repented at the preaching of Jonas.” Beloved, everyone leaves the wilderness changed; the Gospel of Christ becomes clearer through this unique experience. The wilderness is a place of preparation, and isolation for proclamation. Every difficult season carries a story that can bring hope to someone else. Because of the birth, death on the Cross, burial and resurrection of Christ, many all over the globe are daily receiving Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The Bible says, “That He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Read Romans 8:29. When you’ve been through pain, struggle, or uncertainty, and God brings you through, it becomes a testimony, where others can be encouraged.

—> You come out with an assignment: The Bible says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.” Read 1 Peter 2:9. You don not come out of the wilderness to a normal life, a million times, no. It is a step into His plan, purpose, and pursuit. The Great Commission to all believers is, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Read Matthew 28:19-20. Amen. The Bible says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Read Jeremiah 1:5. In other words, my / your purpose had already been defined. Hence, the Bible says, “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.” Read Galatians 6:4-5 (MSG). Coming out of the wilderness means there is a divine assignment attached to your survival. Watch this beloved, you did not just make it out of the wilderness, instead, you were sent out.

Dear Father in heaven, there is no one like You. You alone reign over all the earth, and Your sovereignty is unmatched. I am grateful for the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life, leading me through every circumstance. Thank You for perfecting everything that concerns me, ensuring that Your purpose is fulfilled in my journey. I offer heartfelt gratitude for the precious Blood of Jesus, which covers me and provides assurance and protection. Your steadfast love and faithfulness inspire deep thanksgiving within my heart, in Christ name. Amen.

“Puis Jésus fut conduit de l’Esprit dans le désert pour être tenté par le diable.” Matthieu 4:1.

Il y a une incompréhension courante à propos de la nature sauvage: beaucoup de gens pensent que c’est simplement un endroit où l’on survit et où l’on s’échappe. Mais les Écritures nous montrent quelque chose de plus profond: le désert est une préparation à la proclamation. Jésus n’a pas seulement enduré le désert, il en est ressorti avec un message fort, qui résonne dans le monde entier, même aujourd’hui.

—> Pour proclamer la Bonne Nouvelle: La Bible dit: “Jésus est venu en Galilée, prêchant l’évangile du royaume de Dieu.” Lisez Marc 1:14-15. Je compare cela à l’histoire de Jonas: lorsqu’il sortit du ventre du poisson, il alla à Ninive pour prêcher l’Évangile. Lisez Jonas 1:17. La Bible rapporte: “Le peuple de Ninive crut Dieu, proclama un jeûne et enfila un sac de toile, ce qui conduisit à leur repentir et à Dieu épargnant la ville de la destruction.” Lisez Jonas 3:5. “Ils se repentirent à la prédication de Jonas.” Bien-aimé, chacun quitte le désert transformé; l’Évangile du Christ devient plus clair à travers cette expérience unique. Le désert est un lieu de préparation et d’isolement pour la proclamation. Chaque saison difficile porte une histoire qui peut apporter de l’espoir à quelqu’un d’autre. À cause de la naissance, de la mort sur la Croix, de l’enterrement et de la résurrection du Christ, de nombreux habitants du monde entier reçoivent chaque jour le Christ comme leur Seigneur et Sauveur. La Bible dit: “Afin qu’Il soit l’aîné parmi beaucoup de frères.” Lisez Romains 8:29. Quand on a traversé la douleur, la lutte ou l’incertitude, et que Dieu vous accompagne, cela devient un témoignage, où d’autres peuvent être encouragés.

—> Vous sortez avec un devoir: La Bible dit: “Mais vous êtes une génération choisie, un clergé royal, une nation sainte, un peuple particulier; que vous révéliez les louanges de Celui qui vous a appelés hors des ténèbres dans Sa lumière merveilleuse.” Lisez 1 Pierre 2:9. Tu ne sors pas du désert pour mener une vie normale, un million de fois, non. C’est un pas vers son plan, son but et sa quête. La Grande Mission à tous les croyants est: “Allez donc, et enseignez à toutes les nations, baptisant-les au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint-Esprit: en leur enseignant à observer tout ce que je vous ai commandé; et voilà que je suis avec vous toujours, jusqu’au bout du monde.” Lisez Matthieu 28:19-20. Amen. La Bible dit: “Avant de te former dans le ventre, je te connaissais; et avant que tu ne sortes de tes ventres, je t’ai sanctifié, et je t’ai ordonné prophète pour les nations.” Lisez Jérémie 1:5. En d’autres termes, mon but / votre but avait déjà été défini. Ainsi, la Bible dit: “Faites une exploration attentive de qui vous êtes et du travail qui vous a été confié, puis plongez-vous dans cela.” Lisez Galates 6:4-5 (MSG). Sortir du désert signifie qu’il y a une mission divine liée à ta survie. Regarde cet amour, tu n’es pas seulement sorti de la nature, tu as été envoyé.

Cher Père céleste, il n’y a personne comme Toi. Toi seul règnes sur toute la terre, et ta souveraineté est inégalée. Je suis reconnaissant pour la puissance et la guidance de l’Esprit Saint dans ma vie, qui m’a guidé à travers toutes les circonstances. Merci d’avoir perfectionné tout ce qui me concerne, de veiller à ce que Ton but soit accompli dans mon parcours. J’offre une gratitude sincère pour le précieux Sang de Jésus, qui me couvre et m’apporte assurance et protection. Ton amour indéfectible et ta fidélité inspirent une profonde action de grâce dans mon cœur, au nom du Christ. Amen.
