“The child that never learns to obey his parents in the home will not obey God or man out of the home.” Susanna Wesley. This is quite a profound statement. Hence, the Bible says, “He who withholds his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.” Read Proverbs 13:24 (NASB). Listen here, “For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges [to flog and chastise] every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.” Read Hebrews 12:6 (AMPC). I can imagine some people cringing at the thought of flogging or chastising their children if and when they step out of line. I will say this, ‘It is better for the parent to flog and discipline the child than to allow “Her Majesty Services” do the flogging [Pause and calmly think]. And this is enough reason for you and me to constantly “PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN.” We must not relinquish that responsibility to the government or the state.
