The Lord God Almighty said through Haggai to the people “My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid.” Read Haggai 2:5 (NIV). Beloved, can I say this to you, ‘the work God has given you to do is worth something, therefore, never ever look at God’s work in your hands as inferior. Watch this, the reason for you and me to be courageous is because “God is with us.” Watch this, when you read the text where Haggai encourages the people to be “strong,” one might assume the people were encouraged because of Haggai’s oratory excellence or ability to convince the people; a million times no. Apostle Paul writes, “And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.” Read 1 Corinthians 2:13. The ‘Spirit of God moved upon the people‘ and that is why they were able to obey Him; this is what exceedingly abundant grace and extravagant mercy looks like [pause and calmly think].
