Beloved, the reason for God’s judgement is not out of revenge, instead, it is for correction and to wean you and me from the claws of sin which leads to death [think on this for a moment]. The first chapter in the Book of Zephaniah speaks a lot about the terror which God planned. Let us take, for example, Zephaniah 1:18a (NIV) “Your silver and gold will not save you on that day of the Lord’s anger.” In other words, your earthly substance will not be able to protect you.
