This happens to be one of my popular scriptures, and it can be found in Psalm 119:105 which says, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Popular because I consciously have to remind myself that I must talk to God first about every and anything before talking to anyone else. Well, what does the text really mean in the context of the Word, the lamp, my feet and my path? And to help us better understand, I want to define some key terms with the view that our eyes will be enlightened even the more, and that we might apply our hearts and minds using the Word of God as a tool to reign and rule in this life.
