Truth is found in the wilderness – Part 5

large_when-god-seems-silent-nj7cg6wiI want to establish this truth; in the wilderness you find truth, you find grace, you find Gods love, you find Gods mercy, you find Gods Faithfulness and you find Gods delight in you. When Jesus was driven into the wilderness by the Holy Ghost, He experienced Gods truth at a more deeper level. Why do I say so? Recall the scripture kept saying and Jesus countered the temptations through declaring Gods Word, so He must have known and trained Himself in the art of studying the Word of truth.

What is truth? Truth is the Word of God, truth is the very essence of His Deity. John 17:17 “Set them apart in the truth. Your Word is truth.” I realise the wilderness has the capacity to set one apart, whilst being kept still in His presence. Scripture says in Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The wilderness helps change the narrative to align and synchronise our thoughts with His thoughts, and His ways our ways.

In the wilderness, the main stay is the word of truth, it is the pillar upon which we build our lives, it is the pillar upon which we build what we have downloaded from the realm of the Spirit. I am reminded by this verse of scripture from Psalm 119:105 “Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” Watch this, in the wilderness, the Word of God is that bright shining light; and through this light, we diffuse Gods love, we diffuse hope to a dying world.

The truth you receive in the wilderness is required to be an effective disciple in the 21st Century Church. The wilderness experience hewes (shapes, conforms, chops or cuts) with an axe, or sharp instrument. It can be a very painful exercise, and without a doubt, but in the midst of the shaping; societies, nations are awaiting your un-veiling. Oh what a glorious experience and knowledge to know “you are of worth.”
