We have an obligation: it is not to the flesh, but to live according to the Spirit – Part 1

“We have been created in the image of God and after His likeness” scripture tells us, and we know from studying the scriptures, that “God is Spirit.” The Jewish comash posits “we are speaking spirits like God.”

“For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God, are sons of God.” Romans 8:14 (amp). The implication of this verse of scripture is that God has set in motion; for His Spirit to constantly and daily guide and lead us. it is not meant to be a one time leading, then there is a long gap, oh no, a million times no. Watch this, God will not violate your will or your choice, as much as He loves you, you have a choice to make, hence He said from the book of Deuteronomy, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you that I have set before you life and death blessings and curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19 (amp).

The choice is yours to make and not His, He has made His choice to give us His life. He actually gave us the answer, and a smart person will choose life. Imagine with me, you have an examination paper in front of you, and the invigilator comes alongside you and tells you the right answer; what would you do? This is the same scenario painted in Deuteronomy 30:19. The evidence of our choices would be reflected in our actions and whether we lean more towards the things of the flesh – which leads to death or lean more towards the things of the Spirit which leads to life.

FLESH = DEATH, SPIRIT=LIFE
