The word maintain can mean “to preside rule.” As believers in Jesus Christ, the word of God ought to preside over everything we do in life and I mean everything, nothing is off limits. Think with me, when you maintain your car for example, taking it for regular checks and service; you will notice the car performs better, the engine works at maximum capacity with the engine valves causing the car to propel or reach higher speeds within a short time. This is what the word of God does for us if we allow it; the word preside rule over our lives, consequently creating a momentum (a force or a speed of movement; it is a strength of force that keeps an object moving well after the event has started). Now let us combine the meaning of both words; Gods Word preside rule such that it creates a force of movement in the direction He already pre-destined.
Gods word has been set over you before the foundations of the world; to help you chart your specific path in life, hence the scripture says “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations—that’s what I had in mind for you.” Read Jeremiah 1:5 (MSG). So you see here, because of God’s plan for each one of us, He also set in place a structure that will help us get to our pre-destined place of fulfillment, hence Hebrews 11:10 (NIV) says “Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Likewise, we are confident because the word says “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Your life has been scoped, scripted and designed according to Gods plan and purpose, and He did not just do the first part; He also said “I will help maintain and put you on track through my Word so that you will arrive at the pre-destined destination, hence “His Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” Read Psalm 119:105.
Do not let the experiences of life shape or determine your destination, and like we just read, God has Holy plans for you; It cannot get any clearer than this. It is the truth, it is the Word of God, and He cannot reverse it, because He cannot lie, hence a scripture like Psalm 89:34 saying “I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.”
So, maintain your cause and allow the word propel you to heights in God like you have never experienced before this time.
