Who you are and whatever you do become depends on the level of God’s word you have on the inside of you. Your advancement in life is tied to the capacity of God’s word stored up in you. You are no ordinary being; Gods Word created the universe, and that same word created you. When you have some time, please read the creation story from the book of Genesis, the first chapter.
I want to make this bold and categorical statement, “Gods voice and His words are the most important elements you and I would ever need to live a successful life here on earth.” Recall the scripture says “…the Angels hearken (hear and do) unto the voice of His Word.” Read Psalm 103:20. The implication is this; Gods Word has a voice!!!. I am aware that everything our Heavenly Father created has intelligence, therefore, His creation is designed such that they respond to Gods voice, including ours also. Take for example, Jesus spoke to living and non – living things (Fish, Fig Tree, Waves and Storms), and they all obeyed His command.
The word uphold in the Greek refers to bearing, so if we super-impose the words, it can read “the Word will cause you to bear fruit or to be productive.” Trees bear fruits, and scripture says “…we are oaks of His righteousness…” Isaiah 61:3. The world we live in faces humongous challenges, however, you and I have the help of the host of heaven who bear us up under such immense pressure. Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” Gods Word is from everlasting to everlasting. “His word is the same yesterday, and today and forever.”
The dictionary definition to uphold is “to continue to declare to be true or proper despite opposition or objections.” Hear this, Gods Word is proper and true; no matter the opposition or attack, Gods Word will stand and cause you to bear-up under the weight of any challenge. The book of Isaiah 41:10 says “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you, I will uphold (definite statement) you with my righteous right hand.” God’s promise to uphold you is as definite as it can be.
Do you need to be upheld in any area of your life? Lean on His grace to help, He already told you; “I will uphold you.” The Psalmist writes in 73:23 “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.” Listen to heart on this friend, Gods word is what props us, it sustains us, stabilizes us and restrains us from falling – ‘As for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well-nigh slipped.’ Why did he not slip? Because God held him back by His right hand. It was the almighty God who steadied him at the moment just before the final fall.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you, for in the midst of the storms of life and the billowing waves, you cause me to be steady / sure-footed, to be rock solid and immovable. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for your unfailing love and assurance.
