The Golden Scepter has been Extended to you – Part 1

51PLuRLQ0ZL._SY355_This topic is extracted from the book of Esther 5:2 (ESV), saying, “And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. This is an incredible verse of scripture, and as we progress, you will see why. As I studied the book of Esther, I summed it up like this, “unprecedented favor.”

The Bible says, “For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.” Read John 1:16 (AMPC). God’s favor is so undeniable, Esther experienced the fullness of God’s favor, and in like manner, so should we. Remember, God is no respecter of persons, in other words, God has no favourites; all that call on Him are accepted by Him. Read Romans 2:11 (NLT), but He is a Favourable God.

As good as the book of Esther is, there is something I would like to highlight; for king Xerxes to see anyone, including his own wife the Queen, they would have had to be sent for, after which the sceptre would be extended; indicating to me there is a condition to seeing king Xerxes. Oh wow, so if the king does not want to see you for months, then the person is stuck right? Well not so for you and I who are God’s own children, and heirs to the Kingdom, Hallelujah. Beloved, you and I have “unfettered” access into the throne room of grace, we are not bound by some sort of man made rule or protocol, and neither should you be inhibited from standing before the presence of God. There is a lot to unpack in this statement, but we would move right along.

The Bible says, “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” Read Hebrews 4:16 (AMP). In other words, your Heavenly Father is saying, don’t just try to position yourself in His favourable view; oh no, a million times no. “We are one together with Him;” and He lives in us, He has come to tabernacle (set abode), “never to leave us nor forsake us.”

Whilst we are being enlightened in our spirit, here is a Bible verse of scripture I believe would be a tremendous blessing and encouragement to you; “You will arise and have compassion on Zion, For it is time to be gracious and show favor to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come.” Read Psalm 102:13 (AMP). In this wise, I declare favor upon favor upon you and your household in the Name of Jesus. Amen. I declare God’s immeasurable grace and mercy to overflow in your life in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Oh my God Ricky, thank you for reminding and letting me know, “I am favoured of God.” I needed to hear this word. Thank you and the Lord continue to bless you, increase you, and to show His mercy and love in the Name of Jesus.
