“…CALLED on the God of Israel, SAYING, “Oh that you would bless me indeed…” – Part 1

I touched on Jabez in a previous post, and, I sensed a strong leading by the Holy Spirit to engage in what Jabez did by SAYING what he SAID in 1 Chronicles 4:10. In this wise, I would be leading us through some declarative verses of scripture. The Bible makes it clear, that being propelled in the right direction from the onset is vitally important. In other words, the scripture is telling us we have no business in embracing “TRIAL AND ERROR.” Well, you might be reading this and saying, how is this possible? The Bible is our foundation and pillar of truth, right? Yes. Therefore, what the Bible says, is what stands right? Yes. Then we have a duty to embrace and accept everything the Bible says to us right? Yes. Good, now we are on the same page.

My text is based on 1 Chronicles 4:10 which says, And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” SO GOD GRANTED HIM WHAT HE REQUESTED.” Jabez was conceived under certain circumstances, such that his mother gave him a name that depicted her pain. Jabez had no choice in the name he was given, but for God, he had a choice to petition for a change of  name and circumstance, hence 1 Chronicles 4:10 was documented for us to read and to learn from.

Your human spirit has the capacity to dig deep from within, and the question I would like to ask is, how desperate do you want your circumstance to change? Since your life might depend on your confession, would you be willing to take a stand and declare God’s word? The Bible makes us understand, change is in your mouth and a breadth away. Let us go deeper, your words can change your circumstance, and if you don’t like what you see, change it by your words. So what I would be doing over the next few posts is to explore Biblical texts to help us embrace who we are through God’s word by confessing it. Jabez spoke the change he wanted by tabling his request before God, and in like manner, you and I have the power to petition God, and have our circumstances changed. So we would start by speaking the change we desire where the following is concerned:

DIRECTION: The Bible tells us, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” Read Psalm 119:105 (NIV). Therefore, I declare, God’s word is my internal GPS, I know what to do, when and how to do it in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH: The Bible tells us, “And Jesus matured, growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people.” Read Luke 2:52 (MSG). Therefore, I declare, I am growing in grace, wisdom, knowledge and understanding in all manner of things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

BUSINESS: The Bible tells us, “Work brings profit…” Read Proverbs 14:23 (TLB). Therefore, I declare, my businesses and the works of my hands profit much to the benefit of humanity. My business is an employer of labor, of choice, and actively participating in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

FINANCES: The Bible tells us, “You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, His generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus.” Read Philippians 4:19 (MSG). Therefore, I declare, I have much more than enough to meet every financial obligation and to be a distribution  centre in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

HEALTH: The Bible tells us, “My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn;
open your ears to my sayingsDo not let them escape from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing and health to all their flesh. Read Proverbs 4:20-23 (AMP). Therefore, I declare, I walk in divine health, I refuse any form of sickness in my body, I am daily invigorated by His word, and I would never be sick of any ailment, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

These declarative Bible verses are for you to meditate upon and speak over your life, including all that concerns you. Dearly beloved, remember, I am a contemporary like you; and I have chosen to look into the “perfect law of liberty” and to “behold what I see in the scripture” and “open my mouth and say the same thing – Homologeo” with the intent of being an expression of His Holy scriptures in this earth, and to impact all those around me; starting with Ricky. Watch this, you can only express and exhibit what is on the inside of you. Selah (pause and calmly think).

I realise some of these declaratives might be radical, and even to the point of you questioning some of the verses. Watch this, “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.” Read Acts 10:34 (KJV).
