Wake up to a brand new day: Awaken to God’s Faithfulness – Part 9

1425861257951God and faithfulness are inseperable. The Bible says, “God is faithful [reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promiseHe can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Read 1 Corinthians 1:9 (AMP). In other words, we have been called into fellowship with the same character of God (faithfulness – reliable, trustworthy, ever true to His promise and dependable), remembering, “For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.” Read Philippians 2:13 (AMP).

In our society today, I believe one of the challenges you and I face either with ourselves or others is faithfulness. If this were not the case, the Bible would not have counselled us to be faithful and dependable. Nevertheless, I am extremely grateful to my Heavenly Father for His faithfulness towards me. It is a joy to know God’s Faithfulness is from everlasting to everlasting, and that is why the Bible says, “…He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Read Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV). People might abandon you, and you might give up on yourself but God never ever will; because it is not in His character to be unfaithful.

Whilst meditating on God’s faithfulness, I wanted to find out the extent of His faithfulness; and we are told God’s faithfulness is SO GREAT, hence the Bible says, “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness.” Read Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT). There is a popular hymn by the Gaithers, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” Listen to what Chisholm said, Chisholm explained toward the end of his life, “My income has not been large at any time due to impaired health in the earlier years which has followed me on until now.  Although I must not fail to record here the unfailing faithfulness of a covenant-keeping God and that He has given me many wonderful displays of His providing care, for which I am filled with astonishing gratefulness.” Thomas Chisholm – 1925

The Bible says, “God never changes,” “He is the same yesterday, and today and forever.” “He is from everlasting to everlasting.” “As He is, so are we in this life,” therefore making you and I a people of faith; “For we walk by faith and not by sight.” Here is a question for you to tackle, knowing what you now know about God’s Faithfulness, why then should you be afraid? There is nothing to be scared about right, because God is FAITHFUL, and FAITHFULNESS is the currency we transact.

Lastly, a consistent daily commitment to God promotes a solid relationship  and faithfulness towards God, and faithfulness is an attitude you have in the midst of great frustration.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
