Walk in the Spirit = walk in the Word – Part 2

Walk in the Spirit = walk in the WordWhen you research and understand the power of the Holy Spirit, I am convinced you will have a similar question as I did, why am I not ‘constantly walking’ in the Spirit.? Listen to what a Theologian articulated, “What we need is not more learning, not more eloquence, not more persuasion, not more organization, but more power from the Holy Spirit.” John Stott.

As the people of God, we might have relied on every other thing but the Holy Spirit’s power. Watch this, the Church is not devoid of power, rather it is the people of God who are devoid of the knowledge and power of the Holy Spirit. And this is why I have and keep saying, as the people of God, we can’t and should not be spiritual babes, instead our aim should be to the Huios of God. Huios means a “distinguished child who has come of age. Roger Good asserts that for the early Church, huiothesia refers to a process designated as “sonship.”

Now in this context, God is our Father, and we are His children, evidently carrying His DNADivine Nature Attitude, therefore, we are to be like Him in every sense of the word. We are no longer adopted, children, but by virtue of the blood of Christ, we are now “heirs and one together with Him.”

Jesus said, “The Words I have spoken to you, they are full of the Spirit and life.” Read John 6:63 (NIV). The Bible also says, “Out of His fullness we all received…” Read. Watch this, God’s word is full of His Spirit, and that is the reason why it will serve us well to latch on to every word of God spoken.

God’s word is full of power (dynamic ability to command the change you want to see in your life).

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
