Walk in the Spirit = walk in the Word – Part 3

Walk in the Spirit = walk in the WordWalking in the Spirit – walking in the Word will help us keep things in its proper perspective. The way we see things is based on our perspective and philosophy. And the scripture tells us, “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.” Read Colossians 2:8 (NLT). Can you see this? It is quite clear where we should get our inspiration, thoughts and responses from – from the word.

I recently had a conversation with a dear friend and brother, and I made this statement ‘the first person I must seek to talk with is the Holy Spirit.’ I hold this statement to be the absolute truth because who best to talk to – the Holy Spirit. He knows everything and has the best advice any friend will or can ever give. Now, I am not saying there isn’t a role for a friend whom the Lord will direct you to speak with, but you get that instruction from the Holy Spirit, hence the scripture says, “The Spirit told me to go with these men without any misgiving.” Read Acts 11:12 (PHILLIPS). If you yield to the Holy Spirit, He will tell you to whom you should speak with.

As Christians, we get into certain difficulties because of our refusal to first engage the Spirit of God. Instead, we seem to rely more on our natural senses. This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.” Read Jeremiah 17:5 (NLT).

When we yield to the Holy Spirit, we will live an intelligent life. Why? The Holy Spirit will have free course to direct the affairs of one’s life. Remember, everything God created has intelligence, Selah.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
