The Word of God is not seasonal: It is near you in your mouth – Part 6b

270px-Four_seasonsGod’s word is not beyond reach, it is a breath away. The scripture counsels, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word Christ, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself” Read John 1:1 (AMP). Beloved, we are products of the spoken word as I alluded to in a previous post. As I began to explore the topic, I sensed it necessary for me to include this scripture in the discussion. This is what the text says, “No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.” Read Deuteronomy 30:14 (NIV). Here we see the connection between the words you speak, which gets deposited in your heart, and ultimately comes out of your mouth. Watch what the bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Therefore, let me announce to you; you are a product of your own words, not someone else’s words, but yours.

Immediately after the statement in verse 14, then comes an instruction from God to the people; a decision that will determine the outcome of one’s life. God knew the importance of choices, hence He decided to include an insurance policy by commanding His word to you and me to choose life, how you might ask? By “loving the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgements, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” Read Deuteronomy 30:15-19 (NKJV).

Listen to this, God’s word in your mouth and heart is far more powerful than any intellectual force or adverse situation. Watch this, the spoken word [truth] will draw from the “living word to produce living proofs.” Beloved, we have to refuse to live by the standards of the environment we find ourselves in; we must trust His word. To choose Gods word is to choose His life! Your mouth is the door to your heart! Seriously Ricky? Well, see what the Bible has to say, “Post a guard at my mouth, Godset a watch at the door of my lips.” Read Psalm 141:3 (MSG).

I end with this quote, “I sometimes think that the very essence of the whole Christian position and the secret of a successful spiritual life is just to realize two things… I must have complete, absolute confidence in God and no confidence in myself.” Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

Father, thank You. I am eternally grateful that Your word is deposited and sown in my heart.
