I recently had a conversation with a parent, and the conversation went like this; “I usually wake up by 6am in the morning to drop my daughter off at the nearest bus stop to the house, where she catches the bus to school. On this particular day un-announced, I decided to drop my daughter off at school because I had a day off, and I wondered as I was driving to the bus stop that my daughter has been good in every sense of the word, and I felt to reward her with chauffering her to school.”
The look on my daughter’s face was that of surprise as I drove past the bus stop, and her question was, “mum what are you doing?” And I told her that I wanted to reward her hard work and effort for waking up early to get ready for school including helping out around the house and being a responsible young lady. As I heard this story, I learnt one of the most valuable lessons; God treats us the same way. The Bible says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.” Read Psalm 37:4 (AMP). Watch this, God’s Word and instruction to us is meant to be a thing of joy to be carried out. The word delight in the Greek means “a source of joy.”
“The Lord favours those who fear and worship Him [with awe-inspired reverence and obedience], those who wait for His mercy and loving-kindness.” Read Psalm 147:11 (AMP). Beloved, God delights in you, hence the Bible says, “Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” Read 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP).
“Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favour my vindication; and let them say continually, the Lord be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant.” Read Psalm 35:27 (NASB). The Bible also says, “I will make them and the places around My hill (Jerusalem, Zion) a blessing. And I will make showers come down in their season; there will be [abundant] showers of blessing (divine favour).” Read Ezekiel 34:26 (AMP).
Never be in doubt beloved, God loves you, He desires your success, He cares affectionately for you and He is pleased with you.
#God delights in you.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
Thank you for reminding me that “God delights in me.” It is refreshing to know and for this truth to be enforced.
